I've heard the demo of Gimme me all your luvin when it leaked last year. It was very disappointing and not something I will be supporting. I cant stand Nicki Minaj neither and understand she will feature in the song. I think Madonna has lost the plot to be honest. Hard candy was one of her least successful album's released and she has followed it up with something a long a similar vein in an attempt to stay relevant. The style doesnt suit Madonna and rather than set the trend with new music, she is following what everyone else is doing.

^ you havent heard the new album so how can you make that comment?

it is predominantly produced by william orbit who certainly is not being used by everyone!

Apparently Birthday Song (one of the rumored tracks for MDNA) is actually a M.I.A. song with Madonna featured on it for her new album apparently, so I read anyway!

I can make any comment I like. I don't like the new single and thats it!

You can't assume the whole album is gonna be crap based on the demo of Give Me All Your Love.

I get where slowdown is coming from. Madonna doesn't seem to care about her music career anymore. She doesn't bother with videos where she once was a cutting edge video artist, she's resorted to working with obvious producers where once she used relative unknowns to get ahead of the curve. She hasn't had a genuinely great song since 2005 now. The demo of Gimme All Ur Luvin is bloody awful and people in the know have said the final song is not much changed. There really is no reason to expect anything even half-decent. I don't mind because her back catalogue will keep me entertained for years but Madonna isn't doing this for the love of music anymore, she probably just wants to be able to tour again.

Surely Give It 2 Me is a great song?. She can't release songs like Hung Up all the time.

I don't think Give It 2 Me is a great song at all. It's one of the better ones on Hard Candy but it still doesn't sound like a Madonna song.

I actually think 4 minutes is a great video. 'She hasnt had a gret song since 2005' in your opinion, 4 minutes was huge around the globe and presented Madonna with a massive hit in america again. This is what she desprately wanted with this album.

She has only once in a 20+ year career used very well known producers, so give her a break! Ofcourse there is reasons to have high expectations she is working with Orbit again and you said it yourself 'her back catalogue will kepp you entertained for years'. Orbit is a huge part of her back catalogue.

She obviously loves creating, writing / producing new songs, if she didnt she could tour her old material for ETERNITY!

I think 'Give It 2 Me' is classic Madonna, the only song on that album I'd claim as that. 'Hung Up' is so overrated, it was briefly addictive but relies far too heavily on the sample. I mean, she released a single just afterwards that was ten times better and got to #1 with it too.

'She hasnt had a gret song since 2005' in your opinion...

Who's opinion would it be if not mine? Should I put an 'in my opinion!' disclaimer on every bloody post?

Hung Up is one of the best uses of a popular sample that I can bring to mind, probably the best. The average person hearing that string sample now is more likely to think of Hung Up than Gimme Gimme Gimme. And Sorry does not even come close.

(In my opinion!)

I never stated the whole album would be crap. What I did express is my sheer disappointment with the first single, which is likely to be a good indication of what is to come.

Martin Solveig talks Madonna

Australian website VMusic spoke to French DJ and producer Martin Solveig - who has taken the dance music world by storm with hit singles like "Hello" and "Ready 2 Go" and had over 41 million views on YouTube - about the album "Smash" and what it was like working with the Queen of Pop.

You've produced tracks on Madonna's new album. What was the most surprising thing about working with her?

The simplicity of the communication. The simplicity of the way we communicated on an organisation level. Recording those songs for that album was something that quickly became very natural and I think that really helped us to paint something interesting.

How involved is she in the recording process? Did you work very closely together?

She is as involved as you can be in the recording process. This was a very good and big surprise for me! I was assuming that she would spend only an hour or two in the studio per day and come and see where we were and say, "Ok I like this, I don't like that. I'll sing this. Bye!" And absolutely not... I mean we co-produced the track and its not just written on the credits "co-produced by Martin Solveig and Madonna", we literally co-produced the tracks. I mean, at some point she wanted to choose the sound of a snare drum or a synth and that kind of stuff. She was really in the session!

Well thats interesting cos Solveig is a dance artist and not what I was expecting after hearing "gimme all your lovin". There might be some saving grace in this new album after all!!

I agree. I always think of Hung Up when I hear the sample, partly because the sample is louder and more *insert technical music term here* than Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie, and partly because Gimmie 3x was released almost 20 years before I was born :P

Rumour:

M.D.N.A.'s special edition album will have extra original tracks on, unlike Warner's previous special editions with remixes on.
