Wow at Albania nearly winning the semi :o I had a feeling Serbia would clinch semi 2 (with Loreen still winning) but I'm glad to see it wasn't even close!

Wow, a few quite big shocks!

- Montenegro actually getting points  Can't believe they got a 12 from Albania and came higher than the glorious Anmary :(

- Switzerland coming so close, that and Hungary were basically certain DNQs in my mind so them going through with a few points more would've been weird!

- Tooji literally on the edge of DNQ'ing, poor Bulgaria but I prefer Stay. Awful luck for Norway again after Haba Haba's shock DNQ last year, and they get another last place! At least it's not 'nil points' again :P

- Romania and Greece falling off from the semis, especially the former! No idea what happened there...

- Albania coming so close to winning semi 1 :o I honestly thought it was going to DNQ, so imagine my surprise when it came 5th last night!

- San Marino not being dead last, it surprises me both it and Montenegro got a few points, I thought one of them may steal the novelty votes off the other. But I'm glad Valentina got higher :P

Gutted for Joan Franka too, not even close and below Georgia :( It was my 4th favourite song this year as well. Great to see Loreen clinch semi 2 as well, I had a feeling that it would be close but Serbia would clinch it - glad to see that it was a decent victory in the semis as well as the landslide victory in the final :D

According to ESC Xtra, Finland, Norway and Spain have all confirmed for next year! :cheer:

36.2% for viewers in the UK on Saturday night.

The Loose Women are slagging off Eurovision now. It's all politics blar blar blar. The whole thing is is stupid.

Sweden have so many neighbours and political allies don't though :P

from esctoday:

Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö? The triumph has barely subsided after Saturday’s final in Baku when the preparations for the upcoming contest in Sweden have begun. Today the Swedish broadcaster SVT is having their first meeting about Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and the bidding has already started.

When it became evident that Sweden had won the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, the city of Gothenburg preliminary booked the Scandinavium Arena together with the Swedish exhibition halls in Gothenburg and 3,000 hotel rooms. In Malmö, the Malmö Arena was booked for the same reasons. Local medias in both Gothenburg and Malmö have stated that both cities are ready for what could be called a tug of war with Stockholm about getting the possibility to host next year’s contest.

There are several factors affecting the planning of the upcoming contest 14th, 16th and 18th of May 2013. As Stockholm could be seen as the natural host city choice, local media claim that the hosting of the World Championship in hockey 3rd-19th of May 2013 might influence the choice of another Swedish city, something that the Swedish broadcaster SVT has confirmed.

On the other hand, could the possible arenas in Gothenburg and Malmö be considered as too small for an event like Eurovision Song Contest, as Scandinavium can take 14 000 spectators and Malmö Arena 15 400 spectators. The likely choice could therefore be the newly constructed Friends Arena in Solna/Stockholm with a capacity of 67 500 spectators.

Sweden has hosted Eurovision Song Contest 4 times before. 1975 at Älvsjömässan in Stockholm, 1985 at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, 1992 at the Isstadium in Malmö, and in 2000 at the Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Stay tuned for more information.

I would imagine they'd go for Stockholm and the new arena.

The Friends Arena would be the largest ever hosting stadium, wouldn't it? That'd be out of this world considering Globen was already a massive step up for the contest in 2000...
Take me about 4 hours to drive to Ghotenburg! I could drive at 12 pm saturday and be home by 4 am on sunday morning :P
That is a seriously terrible name for an arena.

I expect that we'll get a performance of Listen To Your Heartbeat, possibly as a mash-up with this?

When do the split jury/televote results come out? I'm INTRIGUED

Last year they were released 12 days after the final! :D

Yes, I was very intrigued too so I found last year's article and worked out how many days after the final they were released :kink:

When do the split jury/televote results come out? I'm INTRIGUED

I was just coming here to ask that. I can't wait for them. 12 days!? Taking their time!

Ok so I've had some bizarre Eurovision related dreams in the past but this one really takes the cake.

I had a dream about Eurovision 2013 in Sweden. Somebody sent a giant singing spider as their entry. Not only that but a hysterical Alexandra Burke rushed the stage begging people to vote for the spider....she was dragged off stage kicking and screaming support for the singing spider.
