to a lesser degree the saturdays have had online promotion in the form of clips and excellent reviews from the likes of Pop Justice and Digital Spy. there has been a build up of knowledge of the song, so its not going in completely unknown.

plus that performance on tv was sensational

20! So Saturdays could get there if they continue at the rate they're going, they produce albums and singles so quickly it seems.

How many #1s Girls Aloud have though?

'Dont you dare' Ooo scary. :coffee:

Girls Aloud and Saturdays are very different in their style and in their make up. Arguably the Saturdays are better live singers any way, and Girls Aloud are more of a brand
I didn't say you had. Everytime they release a new single you seem to come on here slating.

Who cares if they are desperate for #1, I would be if I was an artist.

I wouldnt mind, but they are so obvious about it, that it smells of desperation which just isnt good.

Hayzayy, your sig makes me want to vomit

the thing is though they deserve to be desperate. compare them to a band like Mcfly who used promotions to get to number one - but then they had already had various number ones.

Is it really fair that bands like Westlife and Mcfly get various non number ones and a band like the Saturdays who have very solid and consistent material are left without?

Nadine is a brilliant singer though, and Girls Aloud's songs so far have been of a higher level, as much as I like The Saturdays back catalogue.

I think both Girls Aloud and the Saturdays have done the girl band title the world of good. Each band is composed of five identifiable characters and the production teams behind their songs gives them a massive boost.

'Deserve to be desperate' well never heard that before.

Ha ha yes, well when you think about it a song like 'Higher' sold twice as much as certain number ones from last year. Frankie and Rochelle have each had five number two singles (as members of the Sats and S Club 8) and they have a song in 'Up' that will always be remembered as a should have been number one.

Whats The Saturdays biggest selling single?

There are so many songs that havent made #1 and lots of artists who have had songs that have missed out on #1, Saturdays songs missing #1 isnt really a big deal as none of them are exactly modern classics ie Love The Way You Lie.

Oh no this has turned in to saturdays thread.

Back to iTunes:

California King Bed #30 :(

Rolling in the Deep #28 :)

Bloody hell, I knew "Notorious" would cause this to become a Saturdays thread...

On another note, does anyone else think it would be really interesting if the iTunes album chart had popularity bars?

Almost certainly 'Up' given its chart run. It's a shame Up is only their fifth highest peaker (soon to be sixth highest if Notorious gets higher which it probably will) when it's by far their best song and has stood the test of time far better than any of their other singles.

GA had 20 top 10 hits with their first 20 proper releases (excluding Theme To St. Trinian's which was just a cherrypick that happened to get as high as #51). So The Sats can't match that as 'Work' only got to #22. But they could potentially match GA's 20 top 10s in 21 releases (as Untouchable, their 21st and last (to date) single, only got to #11) :P

Now you know what it feels like when I read your posts.

hush hush is falling :( is she going to do any promo? other than just talking about it on twitter

She's supporting JLS on tour from the 10th to the 18th June. I'm sure she'll do some promo then

Airplay has only really kicked in.. It will rise again in the next few weeks
