You know it's funny, The Last Time is decent, but I never liked it as much as Psycho...

I found Psycho to be amazing, but The Last Time is a song that I literally couldn't imagine not ever hearing again.

Here we are, the top 3.

003 || Tone Damli Aaberge - I Love You [Tinnmark - XXVII]

My love for this woman knows no bounds. My thoughts on this track are well documented on Buzzjack, but i'll sum them up: *dies*

The Ashton entry rank - #3

03 || Red Blooded Women - Colour Me Dirty - VII

Arguably Ashton's signature track, Colour Me Dirty is an electropop masterpiece by the unsigned and now defunct Red Blooded Women [Like the Kylie song]. This was a number of firsts for me. First track I discovered for BJSC [Everyone else had connections to the Sugababes apart from Lily Allen whose forum I was Moderating], first track I uploaded to youtube for BJSC and the first [and only] time one of my entries has been followed by the band in question.

The Mighty Ashton will continue to honour the memory of this magnificent Girl Band and this amazing track.

002 || Delta Goodrem - Believe Again [FSR Rontvia - I]

The only song from the BJSC Début contest to make this chart is in runner up. The fantastic Delta Goodrem with the spin tingling, goosebumps inducing ballad of life Believe Again. One of the greatest ballads of all time, god only knows how she is going to follow up this epic string filled masterpiece.

02 || Static Revenger, Richard Vission & Luciana - I Like That - XXVI

I CAN'T BELIEVED THIS FLOPPED IN THE UK[/outrage]

This utterly sublime trashy dance smash is utterly incredible, catchy and loved by EVERYONE I have introduced it too. The utter injustice of it's 30something finishing position was partially rectified by the song making it to the Heats of TBO III. Unfortunately everyone was still suffering from taste deficiency and it didn't win, in fact it was criminally denied a final place. SHAME ON YOU BUZZJACK. SHAME ON YOU.

The short version of this has 108 plays [99th] on my iTunes and the full version has a massive 213 plays taking it to #20 on my all time list

THERE COULD BE NO OTHER

001 || Untouched - Smack Me [FSR Rontvia - VI]

Concluding the FSR Rontvia love in that was the top 15 and this countdown is Smack Me. Trashy electropop at it's finest. This is the most played BJSC entry on my iTunes with a huge 351 plays perching at 8th on my all time most played list. No other song could top this countdown really, it's just too fucking incredible not too.

Like Ella Elle L'a this gained notoriety in my flat and quickly became an essential anthem being played before every time we went out. This song reminds me of my second year and will always have a special place in my heart.

The Ashton entry rank - #1

Completing the countdown of Ashton's entries is this:

01 || Tone Damli Aaberge - Butterflies - XX

It's fitting that this countdown is topped by what is probably going to become my favourite song of all time before the end of the summer. There isn't enough hyperbole in the world to describe how I feel about this song. Just 10 plays behind Smack Me on 341 this is my 9th most played song of all time [bJFest entry Burn is #2 with 446 however] and Tone is [at least according to my Last.fm] my 3rd most played artist now behind the Sugababes and Mutya Buena having finally over thrown Gabriella Cilmi.

Following the implosion of the Sugababes and the release of Cocool this glorious woman is my favourite artist. I severely doubt I will ever send a track I love more than this.

Thank you to all of you who read this and commented, I'll get a full list up sometime over the weekend when I have a moment so anyone who hasn't commented can give their opinion on the 100 brilliant BJSC classics and 35 tracks that Ashton has sent to BJSC and it's spin-offs.
Rich got 8/8 for his predictions ^_^

Voting bloc my ass....

I genuinely forgot about Kid Sister, but Saade I did think about but for some reason thought it had already been lower down in the countdown :drama:

Amazing top five! The Elize song is definitely one of BaNG's best, and I Love You is pretty great.

Fantastic to see three of my entries in the top four :o I'm amazed at how high The Last Time is, but very pleased as well - pleased that my recent entries can still get to you as much as my old classics from 2007/2008 :lol: I guess Smack Me at #1 was inevitable, it's insane how much you seem to love that song - I do still adore it when I go back to listen to it, which admittedly isn't that much, but I'll never forget how much I loved it at the time. It reminds me of the very back end of uni, Mikey had posted a link to a free month subscription to Music Week magazine in Chart Chat (see he is useful!) and on one of the issues came this unassuming CD of new talent from the Liverpool Academy of Arts. I gave it a spin but didn't think too much until track 17 (I think) came on and suddenly I thought 'well this is rather epic, I wish that BJSC wasn't being delayed for another couple of months', hence my request to pull the contest forward and thank god the track came top five in the contest so I didn't come out with egg on my face after I'd claimed that it was so worthy of pulling the contest forward for!

Believe Again, there are no words. Still gets me every time I listen to it, which is very often. I'm so proud of that as a debut entry in hindsight considering what everybody else seemed to be sending :lol:

Your Ashton top three is great too, Colour Me Dirty was a genuinely brilliant discovery for me, I Like That is an amazing dance track and has probably reminded me why I shouldn't be sending dance to this contest (it always flops on its arse no matter how great it is :drama:) and Butterflies is gorgeous, I brought everyone around to the track when I worked at Asda and used to be able to put my own music on over the shop speakers on my department. I was hammering it around the time she dramatically failed behind Fairytale in MGP, I distinctly remember one of my colleagues saying 'this is brilliant, I love pop like this with harmonicas and strings, you don't usually hear it in the charts these days so thanks for introducing me to it'. I'm glad Radio 2 eventually got on board, shame they couldn't do a Caro for her album :(

SMACK ME BOY I'VE BEEN A BAD GIRL. <3

The Ashton entry rank - #9

09 || Molly Sandén - Det Är Inte Jag - XXXIII

The return of The Sandén slides in at number 9 with this fantabulous little number. Less Kelly Clarkson than her still to come winner, but still rather amazing non the less.

Weak song. Meh.

A different Saade song was lower down, Sleepless. ^_^

The Last time is truly incredibly Scadipop though, it's just genius and far too good not to have made the top5. Ahhhhh Smack Me :wub: My love for it never tires, it only grows :wub: Who'd have thought Mikey could come in handy???

It's probably one of the more respectable débuts :heehee:

It says a lot that in the over 25 contests since Colour Me Dirty that only two entries have bettered it for me. Everyone I know is in love with I Like That and I shall convert them all to Tone, eventually!

It really is a shame that going top30 on airplay only translated to a top250 iTunes SMASH for Butterflies :cry: At least Caro has had some success, I think after I've learned some Norwegian I'm going to ask her management team to let me handle her UK Release and then get Cocool [international edition + Butterflies of course] out into the world.

This was a great read Silas, I had a listen to some of them as I went along (as a relative newbie to BJSC) and have found quite a few good tracks, as well as ones I loved before (Believe Again, the Sugababes ones etc.). It was nice to see a lot of Mira, I really like her! No idea how I discovered her without BJ though :lol:
