November 18, 201113 yr Haha I'm so ridiculously cool that I went to a 'Twiathlon' yesterday, watching the four films back to back. Nearly TEN HOURS. You're like my MUM.
November 18, 201113 yr LOL. Cremey the TWIHARD. Loving it! The first remains the best (not seen this yet but I'm pretty confident it won't be all that) just because the mood of it was really perfect and I think Catherine Hardwicke did a good job of getting across the whole vibe and gloom of a small town in the sticks. The baseball scene with Supermassive Black Hole on the soundtrack is AMAZING, epic even (especially when Victoria shows up). But then the final 15 minutes let it down, she can't direct action scenes at all. Great film on the whole though, just a shame New Moon was such a spectacular DUD.
November 18, 201113 yr Author "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1" earned an estimated $30.25 million at 3,521 theaters that held midnight showings (the movie opened in 500 other theaters Friday morning). That's a high mark for the franchise, narrowly beating the $30.1 million "Eclipse" earned in midnight screenings in the summer of 2010. Predictions for the opening weekend are $110 - $150 million which is a very wide margin and makes it hard to tell whether it'll beat the $142.8 million that New Moon took in. £13,756,653 (Eclipse) is the figure to beat in the UK, I reckon it could manage that too, but it won't come anywhere near Harry Potter (£23,753,171) to the biggest opener of the year. My expectations for this quality wise weren't that great but I'm looking forward to it more after Cremey's review. :D
November 19, 201113 yr I just pretend the series ended with 'Eclipse'. Mainly because I can now see all the flaws with the book series and they shock me and also because the last book reads like it was written by a 12 year old fan girl. Shan't be seeing this film as I feel they've just got progressively worse. The first one was great.
November 19, 201113 yr I saw Breaking Dawn last night and I thought it was really good! They did a great job getting it from script to screen, but the sex scene wasn't as 'graphic' as everyone made out..
November 19, 201113 yr So I got dragged to this last night by some of my girl friends. I went in rather moody and sceptical, as I had only seen the first film and I have to say I thought it was awful and in course had not bothered to watch the two follow ups (and as I understood what was going on in the film completely, I was left wondering what the hell had happened in the last two, I am guessing not much at all apart from Bella choosing Edward?). I have to admit that I am really glad that I was forced to go, because although it started off slowly, it really got going and the plot in this one was far stronger and a lot darker, which I rather enjoyed. I still can't say I fully get the hype for this saga, but I have to admit I rather enjoyed it, although half of that would have been rather mockingly, especially at the awful acting, but it was of a far better quality that the previous one I had seen and actually had a slight depth to it. The wolves talking in a human voice was just terrible though.
November 20, 201113 yr Author The wolf human voice thing wasn't great but I understand they had to get their thoughts across somehow, and I doubt subtitles would've been any better really. On first viewing I think it was my least favourite of the four but it needs another chance where I can just enjoy it for what it is. There were a few parts where it seemed it was trying to be funny but failing. Some of the dialogue & acting seemed a bit dodgy but that's probably the same for all of them. I thought it dragged a bit but the final 15/20 minutes were great in terms of action, even though it was a bit gory and I had to look away. It did set it up very well for the last part. I assume they're holding the next part back a year to extend how long the saga goes on and get as much money out of it as possible, given it's already filmed.
November 20, 201113 yr I thought it was awful. By far the worst movie of the four. Basically there are only three things showed to us there: wedding, sex scene and birth, which were dragged for the 1.5hrs. I felt like it needs something extra. But my mum told me the next part will be full of action and stuff so I guess it was okay they sacrificed this film in order to not rush things with the last book.
November 20, 201113 yr Hmm, chances are I'll probably end up seeing this at some point (which is mad, since then the only one I won't have seen is "Eclipse" which sounds like by far the most interesting of the series). I found the first one amusing enough, even though there didn't seem to be enough of a plot to maintain a two hour film. That complaint was FAR more apt for "New Moon", where I struggle to remember anything that happened at all. I somehow doubt it'll top "Eclipse"'s opening, Part 1 of the last Harry Potter didn't do much better than the previous films and "Breaking Dawn"'s reviews have been generally shit compared to its predecessor.
November 21, 201113 yr Author The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has crushed its competition at the US box office. The penultimate instalment in The Twilight Saga, which was met with negative early reviews, posted the fifth highest opening weekend ever, taking in approximately $139.5 million from 4,061 locations. Only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon have earned more on the opening weekend. That's pretty really then. :D Anyone know how the US Box Office works? I don't understand how the US figures are always posted Sunday evening (UK Time) before the end of the actual weekend. UK figures should be out this evening, expecting it to come below Eclipse. edit: It's actually managed it. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has broken the record for the biggest opening for an American film at the UK box office. The fourth part in the vampire franchise grossed £13.9 million over the three-day weekend period. Its Friday figure of £6.35 million surpassed the non-3D opening record set by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 last year. Edited November 21, 201113 yr by Jáhq
November 22, 201113 yr I haven't watched Breaking Dawn yet. My friends are pushing me to do so but I just can't find anyone to watch it with. I have to agree that BD was only split into two parts to rake in more money and give more fame to the show. I thought the same with Harry Potter but I think it has more of a right to be split into two movies because there are just so many things going on in the last book and it was a decade's movie. So it had to end dramatically.
November 26, 201113 yr I'm being dragged along to see this at the cinema tomorrow. Is it any good? I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the films
November 26, 201113 yr Author I'm being dragged along to see this at the cinema tomorrow. Is it any good? I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the films  Do you know what the books & movies are about in general? I don't think seeing all of the films is necessary to enjoy it though. Is it any good? Well, I'd be bias, everyone else would probably say no. If you're a fan of top notch acting and films that are paced really well..this will 'disappoint'.

November 26, 201113 yr Author Is it about Bella deciding between Edward and Jacob? I've heard all of this Team Edward/Jacob stuff  I'm sure I'll enjoy it if it's filmed really well :D Well by this stage she's already chosen Edward, but Jacob is still very much present. I think the filming is pretty good and one of the stronger points, with the look of certain scenes.

November 26, 201113 yr One of my friends had never seen a Twilight film or read the book, she went to watch it as there was 'nothing else on' at the cinema and really enjoyed it
November 26, 201113 yr Is it about Bella deciding between Edward and Jacob? I've heard all of this Team Edward/Jacob stuff  I'm sure I'll enjoy it if it's filmed really well :D I only saw the first one and nothing happened in the first one apart from Bella struggling to chose between Jacob and Edward, and I understood this one fully, so I honestly don't think you need to have seen the other ones.
