Lady Gaga is the biggest pop star in the world at the moment. Even my gran knows who Gaga is and she only found out who Madonna was a few weeks ago

There is no overall 'biggest'. In the US Katy Perry and Rihanna are the absolute queens of the Hot 100 so if you want to measure 'biggest' by that measure you could say it was those two, but neither can shift an album like Beyoncé, Gaga or even Britney can. But then Susan Boyle outsold all of that lot on the albums front with her opus but you wouldn't call her the world's biggest popstar (well, perhaps you would if you had a tape measure to hand but...). It's all relative.

So happy to see 'California King Bed' finally top 10 on iTunes :D

I really hope somehow that Rihanna will get a slot on the BGT live shows, it'll propel 'CKB' even higher + the Nivea ad also a major help.

This era has been amazing for her so far!

Nope it isn't

 Everybody knows it's a ballad. Why are you denying it? It's not even like it's an opinion, you're just wrong...

Yeah, that's true. It's hard to say who's definitely the biggest really.

If we go by UK single sales in 2010 for example, the biggest female of 2010 was Rihanna, the biggest group was Glee Cast and the biggest male was Eminem. And that was NOT including featured singles.

TOP SELLING SINGLES ARTISTS 2010

Rank - Sales - Artist

01 - 2,496,982 - Rihanna

02 - 2,022,338 - Glee Cast

03 - 1,907,371 - Eminem

04 - 1,832,358 - Lady GaGa

05 - 1,758,853 - Katy Perry

06 - 1,517,050 - Tinie Tempah

07 - 1,362,146 - Black Eyed Peas

08 - 1,279,514 - Usher

09 - 1,201,662 - Jason Derulo

10 - 1,195,859 - B.o.B.

And Rihanna would've had like an extra million at least if you included Who's That Chick?, Love the Way You Lie, and even the trickle sales of Run This Town, Fly, Live Your Life, etc.

As if J. Lo has managed to get to #2!!

The member is just being stubborn and childish i'd say, and doesnt want to go back on what they said even though they know it clearly is a ballad.

The thread description makes it look like she's #2, but she's actually #8.

Maybe they genuinely think it's not a ballad? I mean, I'm very liberal with what I consider a ballad, so there's probably some things that I'd call ballads which people would laugh at.

Someone's read the sub-heading wrong :P

Woops

But still, she isn't doing too bad. It's weird though, seeing all her old hits being replayed again on music channels.

but you're probably quite similar to this member eric as in you're quite stubborn with your opinions, as a lot of members are on this site i've noticed, not in a mean way, just set in their ways and sometimes not open to listening to others and seeing their view.

This itunes thread has gone way off topic so many times today

Holding up so well the three here:

Party Rock Anthem #5

Beautiful People #6

Sweat #7

Rolling in the Deep #1 US iTunes everyone! Has been for a while now, was overtaken by AI winner for very short while though!

You should lock the two of us in a room and see who moves to the other's opinion first.

Usually I just get defensive because I say something then have a bunch of people go WTF? as if I'm stupid or idiotic, then I have to defend myself.

I hope Party Rock Anthem falls now, because it stayed at #1 for too long. I was Beautiful People and Sweat to stay around for a while longer, because I'm still loving the songs, and I feel a bit sorry for both of them being such huge hits but having poor chart peaks. They're both in the year-end top 20 now!

Yeah i see that a lot on here too Eric so i see why people react the way they do.

Yeah, sometimes I'm actually joking. But when I'm serious it's pretty annoying. Especially when they say my "opinion" is false without at least providing any evidence or sources to back up their own point of view.

Although sometimes I do get a bit lazy/forgetful and say something like "Bad Romance is boring", when I should really say "I think Bad Romance is boring", but that's more me not thinking about what I'm typing rather than me thinking my opinion is fact.

Yeah I see where you're coming from Eric, you do talk sense sometimes

Thats the problem with internet sites, you cant know someones tone, or its not as easy to put your point across way you want it, people read things in the wrong way etc etc, so much better face to face. ^_^

I doubt Mr Saxobeat will ever get #1. It'll never have that big week of sales to get there.

Cant believe Bass Down Low is as high as #13, hope it wont get too much higher.

Any sign of What A Feeling yet? 20mins after release

It's not better face-to-face for me really. If someone disagrees with me, I just tend to say something like "yeah, maybe" and move on. In real life I'm not able to search through my Internet history and find places where I read something from. Plus I'm not very well-versed. I can only get so far with the words "Yo", "Homie" and "Dope".

Can I just clarify now:

I was joking when I said Run the World was a worldwide smash because it got to #2 in the South Korea International charts.

And I was also joking when I said I ejaculated when I saw Britney and Rihanna perform S&M. They are VERY hot, but it didn't quite make me ejaculate! :o And everything else I said in that convo (e.g. me masturbating infront of my mum) was also a joke.

I admit though, I probably would ejaculate if I were participating in actual S&M with Rihanna and Britney, but I think most guys would.

What a Feeling will be a cert for top 10 I think. It might knock Rihanna out already!

OH MY GOD.

The last few pages of this thread are absolute gold!

 I think it started with this post:

Fellow Bey fan, what the hell is her next single? EoT, 1+1 or another track I can't remember the name of?

And then things spun out of control as we began to argue about whether Run the World was actually a buzz single or not.
