June 9, 201114 yr Author surely they won't hammer MYFML again? not that I'm not expecting it to be sang again, I think they'll be a new 'chosen song' this year, it was Journey in 2009, Adele in 2010, probably something else in 2011 (Fast Car?) as for SLY and RITD, its inevitable unfortunately and this article probably isn't true, although I do hope people will have at least a speck of originality in them <_< Are there any songs called 'f*** off Simon Cowell'? :P
June 9, 201114 yr I very much doubt this is true. Last year it was said that lots of contestants had sung Cheryl Cole's "Fight for This Love" at the auditions, although I only recall seeing one or two acts perform it on the auditions highlight shows.
June 9, 201114 yr I seen in the paper the other day, some girl blow them away in scotland singing 'someone like you' so doubt it haha
June 9, 201114 yr So technically they can still sing 'Make You Feel My Love' given that it's not an Adele song at all? I'm reading between the lines here. X Factor are banning "Adele covers" ie; songs covered by Adele. :D As 'Someone Like You' isn't a cover version then they can still use this song. Basically, it would've been easier if the article said "XF judges to ban Make You Feel My Love".
June 9, 201114 yr I think Pixie songs will be overused this year actually! Cry Me Out, Broken Arrow & Can't Make This Over.
June 9, 201114 yr Someone sang Use Somebody (Pixie's version of it) last year, and it almost made top 40 officially. As a viewer of the X Factor, I would like to see some songs banned, just because I'm absolutely fed up of hearing the same things again, and again. I really like Cher from last year. She was performing songs like Hard Knock Life, Shout, Mockingbird, Turn My Swag on, Just Be Good to Green, etc. She was extremely refreshing imo.
June 10, 201114 yr Author What would you guys sing at your audition ? Given my total lack of musical ability, rapping would be my only choice... :w00t:
June 10, 201114 yr I can understand this being moved from the chart forum, but surely it would have been more suited to either the Adele forum or Reality TV?!
June 10, 201114 yr I doubt this is true as some of the Adele songs sung last year were amoungst the most memorable performances.Actually they should stop plugging songs from Syco artists.
June 10, 201114 yr Author I can understand this being moved from the chart forum, but surely it would have been more suited to either the Adele forum or Reality TV?! This is the 3rd thread I've 'lost' in two days. I wish you could cross-post here, as you can on Usenet... :P Edited June 10, 201114 yr by vidcapper
June 11, 201114 yr Author surely they won't hammer MYFML again? not that I'm not expecting it to be sang again, I think they'll be a new 'chosen song' this year, it was Journey in 2009, Adele in 2010, probably something else in 2011 (Fast Car?) as for SLY and RITD, its inevitable unfortunately and this article probably isn't true, although I do hope people will have at least a speck of originality in them <_< Surely if they did, they wouldn't have to use XF to try & break into the music business?
June 11, 201114 yr I would sing "Fight For This Love" or "The Writer". Yeah these songs can show your vocal abilities GREATLY
June 11, 201114 yr I think Pixie songs will be overused this year actually! Cry Me Out, Broken Arrow & Can't Make This Over. Why would you assume that?
June 11, 201114 yr I think Grenade, Fast Car, Price Tag and maybe Skinny Love will be sang a lot. Oh, and for my audition I'd sing Unfaithful by Rihanna (I already have on YT :kink:) or I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc (it suits my voice). Because he's a hopeless stan that still believes she's relevant...?
June 11, 201114 yr Because he's a hopeless stan that still believes she's relevant...? Ouch Theo.
July 21, 201113 yr Let the debate begin. My take....its about time. After the Pentagon study there is no reason to keep it....though I dont think there really has been one prior to that apart from the same fear that had separate black and white divisions.
