Well I got 2 months to plan but I think I already know which song i'll enter at June, I looked at some of the Buzzjack Song Contest entries and realised the majority of them had some kind of dance/electro beat so I think skipping ballads is a good idea since most people might get bored of it :P

 

Are there any ballads however which perform quite well on BJSC before?

Also, the live version of Someone Like You (months before 21 mind, so it wasn't too cheap as Adele was still just 'the girl who was outdone by Duffy then) won, but I'm fairly new to the contest so I don't know of any more.

 

 

That ballad has quite some emotions into it, I might actually switch my entries per each entry so I can switch the genre of the song. Emotional ballads might grasp people then :)

Protests whether which language should be used in the June entries

 

An on-going dispute has occurred as state officials have failed to agree on which language and genre of song is to represent Daehuns first official entry during the summer of June. Government officials have clashed in the parliament ever since Daehun has confirmed its soon entry into the Buzzjack Song Contest, a highly reviewed international contest between countries competing for the most popular song. Clash has mainly occurred between the major cities of Fukimomisa and Hyosan where J-Pop and K-Pop respectively dominate each area as well as the city of Golee for wanting to submit a Western song and the countryside towns for wanting a ballad

MUSIC Update

 

Number one song of Daehun hits all time low for a summer month

 

B2ST's Fiction, which has sold approximately 33,000 copies this week, has hit an all time low for a #1 single during the summer months. Last year equivalent of the same time period had B.o.B's Airplanes featuring guest singer Hayley Williams from the popular rock group Paramore selling 62,000, almost double compared to this year.

Really? I thought most people here would Like Lollipop the most considering it's very catchy and well... provocative a bit :lol: Pop Diva is alright, it's not as good though (my opinion), but thanks for your opinion :)

I do think Lollipop would do quite well I just personally don't like it and think the other two will do better. Bubble Pop would do best I think. It was Song Of The Day on Popjustice ^_^

Daehun's Music President has decided on its track to be released for the forthcoming BuzzJack Contest competition

 

After months of review, the president has decided the track to be released for the next BuzzJack competition. It has been said ballads do not fare as well in the contest but the president and the country has given its full support on the decision, "The track is a soulful mid-tempo ballad that talks about losing a person, missing them and wanting them back. We hope the emotions through this track will gain recognition in the contest".

Daehun's first entry has failed to qualify in the competition

 

Daehun's debut entry in the worldwide BuzzJack Contest has failed to qualify through to the finals with much disappointment from the public. The Chairman has spoken "We thought of sending a ballad to our debut contest purely because we thought emotional ballad tracks would gather some recognition due to the previous contest being mainly dance orientated, however our semi-finals consisted of majority indie music as well as some ballads. Next time the song would not be a ballad but an up-tempo song still being reviewed by our council".

 

Kana Nishino's Aitakute Aitakute finished at position 32th with 40 points out of 46 countries

 

 

2nd Entry by Daehun needs some opinions from other nations

 

We would like for some members to see which would do good in the forthcoming buzzjack contest or rate them if possible :)

 

IU - Good Day

 

Known as the national sweat heart of Korea, at the age of only 18 she's the most popular female singer in Korea at current trends. Good Day is the song which rose her to prominence in the K-Pop market.

 

 

HyunA - Bubble Pop!

 

Former singer of Wonder Girls and a current member of 4Minute, this is her debut solo song and is known for the catchy hook and chorus. *NOTE* It was also a contender for Daehun's debut entry but failed to be chosen.

 

 

BoA - Copy & Paste

 

The Queen of K-Pop and the all time most popular Korean female singer in Japan, she has released some songs into the US but failed to crack the market. She came back in 2011 with "Copy & Paste" as a repackage to her comeback album "Hurricane Venus" and is well known for her superb dance skills.

 

 

Ga-In - Irreversile

 

Most known due to her member status in one of Korea's top girl groups "Brown Eyed Girls", she released her solo debut with "Irreversible" last year which is known to be different from other K-Pop styled songs as well as the bare foot ballet-ish/waltz dance.

 

 

Kan Mi Youn - Paparazzi

 

An old generation idol of the K-Pop market, she made her debut with Paparazzi with an addicting hook and dance moves

 

It's a same Kana Nishino didn't qualified. That's a third song I enjoy from her. Even gave it 7 points! :( But it was very close to qualifying though, so in BJSC for a foreign language ballad it did relatively good.

 

I think I will give my opinions on these potentials some time during the evening ^_^

It was a real shame you didn't qualify, I'd have thrown some points your way in the final if you were there :( I'll listen to them later, but I won't be a good judge in whether they will do well in the contest or not :)

Yes I guess :cry: but next one should appeal to the BuzzJack contest more than this foreign music ballad.

 

Hopefully you like the 5 songs that I am willing to send in the next contest as the theme for the next contest is female solo singers ^_^ and I look forward to hear your opinions on them :)

I've listened to all 5 and these are my favourites:

 

My favourites:

1st - Good Day

2nd - Bubble Pop

3rd - Paparazzi

4th - Irreversible

5th - Copy & Paste

 

but I think Bubble Pop will do the best in the contest - but I don't really have much of an idea as I've only just started :)

Well you already know which one is my favourite :kink: Aside from that one, Copy & Paste would be my favourite and I think it would do really well. In fact, I think they'd all do their bit to challenge the stigma on Asian pop, except I don't see Paparazzi doing much.

I need to prove Asian Pop isn't as bad as some people think it is by releasing a diversity of genres I think. Hopefully with luck I will qualify in ONE contest :cheer:
