I forgot the best one. 'I am a friend of Phil and Ian's. MY SON is in the kitchen eating a biscuit!'

Ha, loved that!

Yeah, there are probably more characters around who'd know Sharon than you think. It almost seems weird Kat and Sharon being in the same scenes, but they were at one point. Same goes for Patrick, Billy, Phil, Lucy, Ian, Janine, Alfie, Dot (Carol, Bianca?)...

(As an aside, Phil was never married to Sharon - I'm sure somebody in here implied they were married.)

I LOVED tonight's episode. I'm really liking Sharon as predicted and her one-liners with Jack were superb. I'm also glad that the Heather murder reveal is looking like it's going to be GOOD. I was worried it wouldn't be, but Shirley trying to drown Ben is a GOOD START.

That was me! I don't know anything haha! Who was she married to then? And who were Phil's three other wives?

I liked Sharon a lot more after that episode, I have to agree that the one-liners made her seem so much better.

It'd be great to see Ben be killed off so we don't have to live through another recasting for him because he's such a godawful character! Death by drowning, by Shirley too, would be amazing!

Phil's actual three wives were some woman called Nadia (I don't think she was in it for long), Kathy Beale and Kate Morton. Kathy being the mother of Ben, and the mother of Louise was Lisa who didn't end up marrying. Plus, he almost married Stella. I think that's right ha!

I'm pretty sure he's modelled on being a modern age Henry VIII.

TBH, surely Ian could've just said no and refused to leave? It's his house and they're his businesses, so now he's back in his house, why would he have to be bossed around by Lucy?

Maybe because he's remorseful for behaving disgracefully? He chose Mandy over her. He has a lot of grovelling to do yet and I'm behind Lucy all the way. At least if she's got his businesses she won't be up shit creek if he ever ups and leaves again.

I live for episodes like that. Beyond amazing. That's why EE is and always will be the best soap.

This is correct. Nadia was a foreign woman who wanted to stay in the country, Kathy was Ian's and Ben's mum and Kate was the policewoman who was meant to trick Phil into confessing to Lisa's murder (even though he was innocent.) That failed and they married!

He was also engaged to Suzy Branning and of course, Stella. Lisa was the mother of Louise.

*phew*

I thought Sharon's stroyline for her first few episodes was pretty lame but over the last couple she has been IMMENSE and very much welcome back.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this week. It's been a great reveal imo and having Sharon's exploits going on in the background was a really positive move too.

I've loved how unpredictable it's all been, not knowing whether somebody will cave and grass them all up or cover their tracks. Is that it for Ben now? Will his trial be off-screen?

If that was indeed Ben's final scene it was a haunting note to go out on. I'm glad he did the right thing. The Mitchells have been the family to beat on EE this year after a period of Branning mania. I don't know where they can go from here but I do know it'll be riveting to watch.

Sharon has slipped back into life on the square beautifully. How shocked Jack must've been to realise he wasn't the one creeping out of bed without a word for once. :D

Everyone seems to sleep with Jack, I hope his exit one day will include him getting aids, it would be VERY believeable.

As hilarious as that would be, why would it cause him to leave? Would it be his utter shame at receiving said AIDs or are you just hoping they kill him off?

I can only echo everyone else and say that this week's episodes were super, and despite the introductory Sharon scenes being a bit too far-fetched/predictable, on the whole it's been enjoyable with high drama happening all over. I'm a tiny bit disappointed that Ben didn't die, but I'm glad that I never have to see him again (despite it being a quite nice exit for him). I'm interested to see what happens with Phil, Shirley and the engagement now, especially with Sharon (and the rest of the square) finding out about Ben killing Heather.

All the awards to Linda Henry who has been impeccable as Shirley this week. Also kudos to Jamie Borthwick who is surely a EastEnders star of the future?
Lucy is a terrible person.
Pretty amazing week. Sharon definitely worked better when they weren't giving her a massive storyline and she needed to meet the locals and give Tracey a line opportunity. Shirley and Jay were brilliant and I have a new respect for Ben also. It wasn't trying to be an overdramatic or shocking ending but it was perfect. It was also hilarious to see Marsden almost screwing it all up in the one situation where she actually had a Mitchell confessing to a crime.
Poor jay :( i just want to give him a hug.

This is all I was thinking throughout basically the whole episode! I really felt awful for him, especially when he broke down at the end. YOU CAN STAY WITH ME, JAY.

Jamie Borthwick was terrific tonight as Jay! I hate that everyone's ganging up on him, they don't realise the pressure Phil put on him! I loved his scene with Patrick at the allotments though, and the final scene where he found his dads name on the bench that he must have wrote made me quite emotional tbh!

Quite in agreement. The Jay/Billy scene in particular was played beautifully, and the continuity geek in me is quite pleased they've still remembered Billy standing by whilst someone else was killed as well. The young cast on EE right now is as good as it's ever been, and they really do need to make sure they keep hold of Jamie Borthwick for the future.

The episodes over the last 2 weeks are just excellent and i agree totally about Jay. My heart went out to him and like many of you i just wanted to hug him and say there is a bed in my place for you, Jamie Borthwick delivered many excellent scenes in those episodes. The reveal has been handled very well and it was a lovely conclusion, no hugeshock factors instead it was more drama based.

Shirley like Jay has delivered some great scenes. Sharons return was handled excellently,i liked how the full focus wasnt on her instead she floated around the big scenes, but that said you could still feel her presence.
