The Similou was formed after Joel and Erik moved in to the same rehearsal space in late 2003. Erik was one half of the seminal house/electronica duo Plej and Joel had already released albums under the name JOL in the early 00's. With pastel coloured synth loops and key-tar (yes it's back!) in hand they went digging through dance music history, and hand picked the best of Hall & Oates, electroboogie, Prince and early Madonna.
