Anyway, :w00t: at Bey top 10, not that I'm an uber-fan but it's great to see another quality song and talented artist in the upper reaches of the chart.

I can't see Beyonce failing to get into the top 2 on iTunes now; the only question is whether it can hit the top spot on iTunes and at the pace its going at I think it can.

The thing is will it trail off later in the week, with the album out as well anything could happen, at the rate she is going she will end up at #1 at some point but not tomorrow, probably later in the week. I guess she is on to do the double on Sunday (Album & Single #1).

Album tracks that are cherry picked generally peak on iTunes on Thursday, ascending quickly to near their peak by close of play Tuesday with a slight rise to get to that overall Thursday peak.

 

With Beyonce's track having already had a good bit of radio play, and massive exposure from last night's Glasto concert, and the fact that its iTunes exposure will also be quicker than most album tracks as it is already in the iTunes top 10 and therefore has higher visibility than non-top 10 tracks, I think it will peak quicker than most albumt tracks.

 

However, if it actually makes #1 on iTunes, the extra visibility from that alone (over and above the "top 10 visibility") may mean it hangs around at its peak longer than Thursday.

 

Having said all that, I'll still be surprised if she actually does the double (single & album #1). She would need a huge lead on iTunes singles chart to do it; as Monday releases are always at a large disadvantage and have circa 25% of lost weekly sales (from not being available on Sunday) to make up.

 

If she hits the top spot on iTunes I think she'll debut @ #3 officially unless she builds up a massive lead. If she doesn't hit the top spot on iTunes officially but gets as high as #2 I think she'll debut around #6-#10.

Was not expecting 'Best Thing I Never Had' to do so well - it's such a great track and deserving of a top 10 position; but wow. Up to #10 after ~16 hours is pretty good - hopefully she can climb a bit more to ensure a top 10 position come Sunday.

 

Not sure whether #1 is possible, it'd like to see her top the chart over Derulo. #1 album however is looking very likely - Glastonbury will have put her at a huge advantage, and with Adele/Gaga at ~40-45k sales - she can easily manage 50k+.

BTINH :wub: I'd love her to go number 1 with it - it will stop the $h!t about this being a flop era! She should deffo have a top 5 though! And I hope Irreplaceable charts again - one of my faves from her and in my top 40 of all time!
