As others have said, being released on a Monday really, really hurts. Where Them Girls At, for example, was released on Monday, got to #1 on iTunes and charted at #3.

About album tracks, the highest one has ever got on release week was Love the Way You Lie, which got to #2 on iTunes. Obviously, the situations were a bit different (since LTWYL was literally just an album track, and hadn't been promoted, but Beyonce's song is confirmed as the 2nd single, has had radio airplay and been performed on TV), but it would still be incredibly impressive if she could match, or even beat that!!

Blah Blah Blah also got to #3 on release week. That was in a similar situation to Beyonce actually, in that it was on the radio quite a lot before the album was released, and was confirmed as the 2nd single beforehand.

And to give more of a picture of how disadvantaged Monday releases are, LTWYL got to #2 on iTunes, but charted at #7, and Blah Blah Blah got to #3 on iTunes, but charted at #11.

Also, I don't think Beyonce will drop as quickly as most album tracks. She'll have the top 10 effect, which like 99.9% of album tracks don't manage to achieve, and the song is in the process of being promoted as a single. Most other album tracks are getting next to no promotion, so they will obviously fall faster and be frontloaded.

I downloaded beyonce's album off itunes this morning and I love it, have to say best thing I never had and countdown are my favourites.
Enrique's 'Dirty Dancer' to #23! :o

See, he can still have hits! :P

I don't think anybody was questioning his ability to have hits seeing as he's had three top tens in the past 12 months :heehee:

What's the more impressive is that Radio 1 continue to snub him every time.

Also, he's only ever missed the top 20 once (with Rhythm Divine which got to #45 in 1999).

Dizzee Rascal's Dirtee Cash also got to #3 on iTunes and charted at #11 (although it climbed to #10 the next week before plummetting).

BTINH is not an album track, it's a single being released concurrently with the album, they just didn't bother adding a single version. So it won't fall that quickly.

Ah, they've added the 'Live at Glastonbury' tag to the higher version of Irreplaceable. Was wondering why it wasn't there before.

If we're counting album tracks as songs that we don't know will be a single then, what's the highest one got (other than Love the Way You Lie obviously)?

What's My Name? got to #9 on release week, but we knew that would be the 2nd single, same for Airplanes, which got to #12. What about Telephone by Lady Gaga? It got to #15, but was that announced as the 2nd single before it was released?

RE: GaGa, I think it was. Kasabian's Underdog went top 20 on iTunes I think (and #32 officially) and that *wasn't* the second single in the end! It was the third single but it never re-peaked.

I don't think it's hit music channels yet. I t was supposed to be on 4music this morning as 'Britney Spears: Brand New Video' but it wasn't on, instead showing the Wanted. So I'm still in hope it will reach the top 40 once it has hit music channels - hopefully it will manage a Till The World Ends-like chart run which wasn't too bad in the end :)

It was on Freshly Squeezed this morning at 7.30

I thought of Someone Like You and Ridin' Solo aswell. They both went top 20 on release week before we knew they'd be the next single.

:o @ I Miss You being the highest and I Was Here not being top 1000! The former is my least fave on 4, and the latter seems to be most people's highlight - it is album only or something?

They acidently missed it out. It is the highest album track without Glasto effect (End Of Time, 1+1, Best Thing I Never Had) at #134. Also 'Countdown' has overtaken 'I Miss You'.

'Irreplaceable' is at #25 when combined.

Also, he's only ever missed the top 20 once (with Rhythm Divine which got to #45 in 1999).

'Away' from his GH was released here and only made #132 [/pedant]

Irreplaceable better continue rising. One of my favourite songs.

I just got 4 (the album). It's a brilliant album - if you like ballads (which I do).

Well, he has a perfect-bar-Rhythm Divine strike rate of top 20 hits out of songs which 'officially' charted :P

Didn't Enrique also have that really annoying song that went 'hey hey all the way DJ, hey hey hey hey can you hear me' or something like that that I think was somewhere around the same time as Away which flopped? I'm being pedantic too now :drama:
I know this is so off topic but Ruth Lorenzo - Burn is #12 on Spanish iTunes :cheer: Only released this morning and is #07 combined

Wow! :o When is it getting released in the UK? I think I heard the song before actually, but a long time ago (so I might be mistaken ).

Can You Hear Me? That completely flopped here, being the last single off of Insomniac. Nevertheless, it made it onto his Greatest Hits (which is a very nice collection, I might add, but CYHM? is one of the weaker ones.)

Be With You, Don't Turn Off The Lights and Somebody's Me are also on the GH, but never charted in the UK, but I'm not sure if all of them were released here (I know BWY wasn't)

Otherwise, he's had a very consistent chart career.

07/08/11 :cheer: It's 1% at the version of #12 of getting the top 10 effect

I dont think ruth will do good over here now, She's left it too long to bring something out, Any fanbase she had is long gone by now.
