The music video for "Best Thing I Never Had" is set to première tomorrow. ^_^

Where did you hear that?! :o

Oh if this is true, Beyonce (I think she manages herself now) is just incredible. Probably the best decision made (after Glasto of course) this era.

Ahh that's great news! Do you think this cements her chances of being #1 this week then?

Maybe if she builds up a huge lead by Sunday, she'll hold off 'Louder'. Wishful thinking, I know.

I'm not sure. I think her chances of being #1 are sadly quite slim, but you never know, it could give it bigger boost than we anticipated. I think it's safe to say that no-one expected the song to go to #1 after her Glastonbury performance, so we don't know what effect the video could have on sales.

I'll be very disappointed if anything stops 'Louder' from getting to #1. I've been waiting for 4 whole years for DJ Fresh commercial breakthrough and I want him to do it with as massive bang as possible.

Yeah I see what you mean.

It'll be great if Beyonce can get a #1 from each of her 4 eras.

Just when I thought the UK were gaining a great taste in music, they choose to buy Marylin Manson over Eurythmics (or Leona's Labyrinth Tour live version :kink:).

The music video for Space Bound

Space Bound currently at 219 on iTunes.

That's assuming he'll even be a significant challenger for #1, and given that I actually like the song, that's probably the kiss of death... :w00t:

DeRulo down to 0.86 :cheer:

EDIT: Scrap that, he's back up to 0.89; either an iTunes revert or the Glasto effect is wearing off already (the latter doesn't quite make sense, since this Glasto effect would have to offset both (a) iTunes album tracks ALWAYS climb on a Wednesday, right through to late Thursday; and (B) the iTunes #1 effect, which is always a massive boost and should DEFINITELY still be getting factored into the pop bar).

Its like the Adele scenario with her performing at the BRITs, I never expected SLY to get to #1, but that took off like a rocket. Beyonce's performance was just in the shade, when comparing it, not that I'm having a dig at the track, to be honest I prefer BTINH over the Jason Derulo track anyday. On the plus side, I do like the occasional ballad at #1 instead of the current music that's been hogging the top spot lately, I don't think its her best ballad, as I prefer Halo.

SLY had a much bigger lead though didn't it?

BTINH hasn't got the lead that SLY had - or the multple versions that SLY had either

I don't think the situations are overly comparable. Beyonce was singing the song as part of a longer Glastonbury set which just happened to be televised. The BRITs had a far larger audience and Adele was only performing the one song so it massively stood out, especially amongst the other non-entity performances from that evening. Best Thing I Never Had wasn't even the standout of Beyonce's set let alone the whole of Glastonbury, call me cynical but I'm sure there are people that knew just how much an affect Adele performing that song at the BRITs would have - don't get me wrong it was an absolutely stunning performance and well deserved the #1, but even before the evening started, her album was sitting at #1 with mega sales, she had massive hype growing around her, the performance was obviously going to be the standout of the evening and a few of us in the iTunes thread that evening were talking it up potentially going top 5 after the performance. Sure it did FAR better than most people could have expected but I'm sure the BRIT organisers KNEW that Adele, singing that song, was the key ingredient that they needed to make that ceremony a success and memorable, she wasn't even up for an award!

True I didn't expect BTINH to go to #1, but top 10 was always secured, I'm not sure that Glastonbury is the full reason for it looking to go top 3, I think it would have stood a good chance regardless, whereas with Adele, Someone Like You wouldn't have gone anywhere without the BRITs performance, at least not until its proper single release.

Can anyone tell me where Encore - tit for tat is at the moment plz

It isn't in the Top 1000 of the main chart, but it's #315 on the Top Pop Songs list.

Ok is iTunes just in a continual revert->normal->revert mode as DeRulo is back up to 0.89 again :grr:
Unless the video has a massive effect it looks like #1 is off the cards for Beyoncé now. Releasing the video now is a good decision though.

I don't get the comments saying #1 is off the cards for Beyonce. From what I understand, she's been #1 on iTunes since last night - and recent figures show she's 0.11 above Derulo at #2.

It's also a good sign that her daily chart run for the single looks like this from Sunday - (xx-xx-11-06) - gaining 5 places in a day is quite a good feat - and she's sure to climb up to the top 3 tomorrow; I reckon she could steal it at the last minute.

#024 Foster the People 'Pumped Up Kicks'

#090 "" ""

#053 Bombay Bicycle Club 'Shuffle'

#069 Chase & Status ft. Tinie Tempah 'Hitz'

#080 Chipmunk ft. Trey Songz 'Take Off'

#090 Queens of the Stone Age 'No One Knows'

Great climb from Foster the People here - they've apparently fallen 7 places to #34 as of Sunday - so this climb should help them get another week in the top 30; or even better climb a place or two.
