OK, I know it's a bit ironic having a poll about polls... :P

If you want to see the results of a poll, but hate a song, you either have to put in a false prediction, or use the null vote option - but which would prefer people to do?

You should vote for where you think it will chart, regardless of what your opinion on the song is. I don't understand why you are so reluctant to use the prediction polls properly

PS, I meant to include a 3rd option of having an 'I don't like the song' choice, but I accidentally clicked on 'send' too soon.
Your prediction should not have anything to do with whether you like the song or not. Its all about where you think it will chart.

That is because, if I don't like the song, I will not be in a position to objectively judge where it might chart.

I don't get this at all - no matter if you like it or not, surely you're able to judge where it will chart? its totally objective, nothing to do with opinion, there are a lot of songs I'm not keen on, but if their surefire number 1s, then thats what I'd vote for!

Well don't vote then?

But as you know, there's a certain genre that I really don't like  , so if I didn't vote null, I'd inevitably have to vote 'flop' because I cannot distinguish between what others consider a good or bad song of that genre, because it all sounds the same to me...

But if I don't vote, I can't see the results! :P

This.

Why would you be interested in seeing how well other people think a song will do, when you cannot distinguish one song from another?

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand where you are coming from.

For me, I usually still try and make a prediction, even if I don't like the song. Like if Lady Gaga's next single is Scheisse, for example, I don't like that song, but I still think it will go top 10.

Although I can see your point about trying to rate songs from a genre that you don't like. I don't think I could really tell the difference between a good guitar song and a bad guitar song, but I could probably still make a prediction, based on the previous chart success of the artist, the amount of hype there is of the song, how much I hear it on the radio, and so on.

This.

This what?

That's *because* I can't tell myself whether a song is considered good or bad by others.

This what?

He's agreeing with the post that he quoted, which I agree with too. You're just being awkward.

Vidcapper doesn't even know what he's even talking about  Pointless poll... NEXT!

P.S. I'm pretty sure if you don't think you can judge a song fairly because you don't like it (get over it, it's not jury duty), then just null vote, or don't vote.

While I admit I've been known to be deliberately awkward in the past, this was not such an occasion - I assumed the poster had simply hit 'send' too soon.

Unfair comment.

I mean you're being awkward with this entire situation. It's not difficult to give your prediction as to where a song will chart.

Predict where you think the song will chart. Thats it. Not whether you like it or not.

Anyway, no offence to this thread but does anyone really give a $h!t?

If there's a poll asking "Where do you think this will chat?" then it doesn't get more clearer than that. If it's a song you hate, it doesn't make any difference whatsoever.

I don't exactly like this current no. 1 from Jason Derulo but I predicted it'd go #1 about 3 weeks ago. The best example I can give is 'Babycakes' by 3 Of A Kind which HAS to be one of the worst songs of all time yet alone UK #1 singles of all time. Didn't stop me from predicting it'd be a no. 1 hit though as much as it killed me to even suggest such a thing, the fact was that I was correct. :(
