Really? I think Mireille Enos is amazing in this. Better than Michelle Forbes because she plays a more rounded character. I don't know how far the UK pace showing is now but by episode 8 or so she really starts to do impressive things.

I find the lead actress a bit wooden if I'm honest. I find Forbes much more interesting - even when she's not saying anything. She seems to be able to act with her facial expressions and her body language.

I have to be honest also - after watching four episodes - apart from Forbes and the actor who plays her husband, I really can't see any reason to watch this anymore. Nice to see Jim Robinson from Neighbours in this though!

That's the problem with the show I found. I didn't really care about the grief the parents were going through, or the political campaign. It does pick up though around episode 8 and gets very interesting. I just f***ing hated the ending. LOTS!

Watched the recent episode and I think i am gonna bow out

This isn't a show with compassion. I love a good murder mystery. However i feel no pain for family with how they are portrayed.

I really couldn't care who killed Rosie. It isn't gripping. The writing is a little bit lousy.

I'm on the third episode of Forbrydelsen, the proper series, and I'm LOVING it. It's so gripping and I actually like the three storyline's being told at the same pace, I'm also really interested in the political storyline and am looking forward to seeing how it further intertwines with the case.

Clearly Ford paid some serious cash to get their cars featured. No way a politician that important is being chauffeured in a bloody Mondeo.

Not sure if I'll bother with the US remake, but I'll certainly be getting into Borgen after this.

I've only seen the second series of the Danish version so far. That was very good so I'm hoping to find the time to watch the first series on DVD.

Borgen was excellent too. It may have been about Danish politics but a lot of it applied equally well to UK politics, particularly given that we have a coalition government.

It's good to see overseas television from somewhere other than the US. And, as an extra bonus, each episode doesn't finish with a trailer for the next one. What is the point of these trailers? If I've just sat though a one-hour episode isn't it reasonable to assume that I've already decided to watch the next one? What are the chances of someone who has watched seven episodes out of eight needing a trailer to convince them to watch the final episode?

Clear a weekend lol, it's completely addictive. I love the way the the next episode begins at the exact moment the previous one finished more comparable to True Blood than to the typical American procedural drama. (Preferable too)

The second series was certainly addictive. It was always difficult watching only the first of the two episodes each Saturday because the second clashed with Match of the Day. OTOH watching the second episode in midweek meant there was never more than a few days between each episode.

I love her getting up as the plane is about to take off and being like 'stop the plane' as if it's a car

I am absolutely in love with this show. Trying to stick to a disc a day so I don't get so wrapped up in it I manage to lose 12hrs to it like a Wikipedia session on crack.

Is this topic for the US remake or Forbrydelsen? Skim-reading the last page provides no clues.

Anyway I watched series one of Forbrydelsen last month and it was brilliant in every way. I'd obviously read all the praise directed at Lund but I was actually quite surprised by just how damaged she was... I mean the woman was an absolute obsessive nutjob at times, it cost her everything and she barely batted an eyelid. Girl got issues. Great portrayal though and fab cast all round. Troels was probably my other favourite. So much better than the politician in the US series.

I couldn't find a separate topic for Forbrydelsen so I thought I'd just post in here seeing as there wasn't much going on discussion wise with the remake. I've seen a mass amount of whining from the Americans that at the end of ep13 they didn't reveal the killer. I kinda want to shake them violently and point them in the direction of the original Danish series where that is exactly what they did, except they rushed the second part forward because it was so popular.

She is insanely damaged though, I agree. I though her son was hilarious when he point blank stated she didn't give a shit about him and only cared about dead people.

If I remember right, the reason there was such fuss, was because one of the producers promised to reveal the killer. Instead all we got was more questions and one absolutely absurd change in direction for a main character.

Forbrydelsen is incredible which made The Killing all the more disappointing. When does season two start?

April 2nd from memory... I think there's every chance they'll have taken the criticism on board and made a better show out of it, but that said I loved the first season. No doubt it helped that I hadn't seen the original at that point.

My addiction with Forbrydelsen is approaching Sarah Lund levels. I have 4hrs left and am still completely hooked.

There are just so many twists, turns, red herrings, ups, downs and shit that comes right out of no where and smacks you right in the face. It's incredibly well written, acted and directed. I am not surprised that it's been picked up internationally at all. After 16 episodes I still have absolutely no clue as to who actually killed Nanne Brik Larsen, which is exactly the way I like my thrillers. I think it could be this guy we just met in ep16, but with all the twists and turns I'm heavily doubting myself.

The actual reveal where we find out the identity of the killer is one of the best things I've seen on television ever. It's so clever and so unbearably tense.

I'm watching the first season of Forbrydelsen at the moment. BEST SHOW EVER! :o I've just finished episode 9 and I think I know who did it, but I'm not exactly sure. Oh, and how STRANGE does Danish sound?! I can pick up on bits of it because I'm studying Swedish at the moment, but I've watched so much of this since Monday that I'm now speaking bits of Swedish with a Danish accent. I sound awful. :(

Actually nearing obsession, though. And knowing I have an entire second season to get through makes me so happy. *.*

Danish is the most difficult European language! I really need to get past episode 1

Believe me, you don't! You might be able to hazard a lucky guess but there are waaaay too many twists and turns to know who did it by that stage.
