Hugh Jackman - Hugh Jackman Planning London Concerts

22 July 2011 09:15:23

Australian actor Hugh Jackman has revealed he is planning a series of ''fun'' Sunday night concerts in London this spring.

Hugh Jackman is planning to sing at a series of concerts in London later this year - and he wants Robbie Williams to join him.

The Australian actor is set to put on the "fun" gigs when he takes a break from starring in the film version of musical 'Les Miserables' - which sees him play the central character of former convict Jean Valjean - and he has been taking inspiration from late American swing singer Frank Sinatra's Los Angeles performances.

And Hugh is hoping the Take That singer - who previously released 'Swing When You're Winning', which was comprised of tracks which are part of the Great American Songbook - will duet with him on stage.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I loved that anything can happen, relaxed feel about Frank Sinatra - and viewing Peter Allen's tapes also taught me a lot. We're planning to do some Sunday night concerts when I'm in London in the spring.

"We're looking for the right space, and the idea is to do the shows when I've got time off from 'Les Miserables'. I just want them to be fun. I feel like I should have a whisky in my hand, like Dean Martin, and then get Robbie Williams to come on and join me."

The 42-year-old actor - who is set to start shooting new movie 'The Wolverine' in October - recently performed his 'In Concert' show at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, which saw him sing classical tunes from musicals 'Oklahoma!', 'Carousel', 'Dreamgirls' and the Peter Allen catalogue.

He said: "I wanted to create a show where I can't wait to do it."

ROBBIE Williams has somehow managed to lose his wedding ring within a year of tying the knot with Ayda Field.

But the Take That singer, 37, has thought of a cunning way to replace it... and avoid the same thing happening again.

Confirming on his blog that he intends to get a tattoo to mark their first anniversary, he said: “Maybe an ‘A’ on the wedding ring finger... I have already lost the ring...

“Can’t lose a tattoo, barring some very unfortunate incident.”

Best not to tempt fate, Rob.

Robbie Williams is taking his wife Ayda Field away for a lavish holiday to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

The 'Angels' hitmaker - who married the actress in Los Angeles on August 7 last year - has been so busy since reuniting with Take That last year that the couple didn't have time to take a proper honeymoon so Robbie has promised his spouse a no-expense spared break at an exotic private resort.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ayda's always by his side when he's touring or working on something but time alone as a newly married couple has been scarce because they tried to see as many friends as possible in Los Angeles before going away for the 'Progress Live' tour.

"Now Robbie has promised to take Ayda on the honeymoon they never had last year and says she'll be pampered in paradise."

Robbie - who has previously battled substance abuse and self-esteem issues - has previously revealed his marriage to 32-year-old Ayda has been great for him because she grounds him.

The 37-year-old pop star said: "Married life is a bit wonderful to be honest, yeah, it really is. Stability and happiness, I'm getting used to it but, you know, it was bound to happen at some point.

"Life feels different, there's like 15 per cent of rubbish that you're carrying round with you, well me anyway, that's just disappeared. It's great being part of a team."

Robbie Williams has revealed that he wants to write with Noel Gallagher.

The 'Rock DJ' singer made the confession on his official blog, where he also posted the music video for Gallagher's new single 'The Death Of You And Me'.

Williams said: "I know it's pretty redundant, but I'd love to write with him."

According to The Mirror, the Take That star also sent the former Oasis guitarist an email.

"He would love to hang out with Noel... but writing together seems a long way off," a source said.

However, recent reports said that Williams told the crowd at Take That's Wembley Stadium show that Gallagher could "lick [his] arse".

He really is taking the piss now

It'd be so funny if Noel agreed. He won't though. Expect to see a 'Feck off, Fatty' quote appearing in The Sun tomorrow

Robbie Williams is finishing off 30 songs for his new solo album.

The 'Angels' hitmaker is throwing himself back into his solo career after finishing a European tour with Take That - which wrapped up in Munich, Germany on Friday - vowing to lock himself away to work on new lyrics for his ninth studio album.

He wrote on his official website: "Well i have (it seems) a mountain of songs to finish lyrics for. So many tunes are in a good shape now. Maybe 30 knocking around and that's not including old ones that never made ['Reality Killed the Video Star']

"The future's bright, i'm looking at my most consistent album to date. I have a month to tie up loose ends lyric-wise (sic). I will remember all your kind words about what my songs mean to you as i struggle for 8 hours over one rhyming couplet - this seems to happen more and more often these days (sic)."

Robbie admitted he is completely worn out by the Take That tour, but has nevertheless vowed to go back on the road again soon. He added to his fans: "This won't be the end of our contact. I shall be back periodically and will keep you in mind always. We have to do a small friendly tour- that seed is planted. I'll be blogging photos and bits and pieces for the time being.
