Just heard this and it sounds better than almost anything Will Young has released before! Really good comeback single. I think it's safe to say that Radio 1 won't be playlisting it but can it be a big hit without their support?

Ooft. This is actually (like you said) surprisingly good! :o It won't touch the UK top 10/20 though. (But stranger things have happened so who knows.) Maybe top 30 as one of those "fanbase buys" sort of releases.

Cracking comeback for Will but it won't trouble the singles chart as it is released the day before the album. Will knows he's an album seller & won't get the backing of the big commeercial radio stations.

Love this review of his album Echoes from pojustice. Even Lady Gaga didn't receive as many 5* ratings.

Brilliant quote.

Basically, the remaining seven songs could be the sound of Will Young swinging a toaster around his head and this would still be one of the albums of the year.

I heard this earlier on R2 today (I don't actually listen to it - but my mum does) and it's better than a lot of his singles - having said that, it's still not great and it'll be T40 for a week because of his big fanbase.
Echoes? Come on Leona had Echo, have some originality with an album name. -_-

I am sure he has a good chance of going Top 20 depending on his promotion, he is sure to get R2 support and some commercial stations may support the song.Jealousy is getting a good reaction so far.

The only resemblance I can assure you will be to the name.

Top 75, like 'Hopes & Fears'.

You could well be right but I think he has a shot at another number 1 album, (especially with his Music Special) which is far more important.

It's absolutely glorious, especially towards the end, but it's not a hit. If he's lucky/with good promo a couple of weeks top 40.

Yeah, his album could be big ('The Hits' was pretty big despite the failure of H&F), he's just not a single seller any more.

The only resemblance I can assure you will be to the name.

There shouldnt be any resembalance. -_- Ofcourse there wont be, music or success wise. :heehee:

:manson:

Like Leona was the first....

If you're going to accuse will of copying, surely it should be from one of the people who've called their album 'Echoes', and not 'Echo'?

There shouldnt be any resembalance. -_- Ofcourse there wont be, music or success wise. :heehee:

 We'll see. With regards to longevity evey other reality tv winner still has it all to prove. :P Won't bore you with the Uk sales figures for both's second albums.

Like Leona was the first....

Exactly.

Here we go again-different names, same old attitude.

Nice shoutout in the Sunday Mirror yesterday:

"I’ve had an exclusive first listen to Will Young’s new single and it’s a goodie! After a break Mr Pop Idol is now back with Jealousy, released on August 21. It’s a massive slice of euphoric dance-pop – think the male version of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream. Welcome back!"

I agree it's not down to the quality of the music just who they perceive as 'cool' or the hype of the moment. If your face fits they'll play any old trash!
