I think Ellie has a good chance at charting on the Hot 100 (depending on when the sales weeks start and end I suppose, the airplay week won't matter in this case really ).

Amazing for Maroon 5 and Christina!!!!!

It's so amazing to see Christina back at #1 on iTunes again! It's only been like a month I think.

I would love if both them and Katy could manage a week in at #1 somehow before Lighters inevitably gets there. It looks unlikely though. Probably be LMFAO again next week.

Honestly didn't expect that.

MLJ should get its week after LMFAO clocks a 6th (didn't expect that either), then time for LFN! Maybe...

Maroon 5's return to #1 on iTunes will be short-lived due to the nature of its boost so I can't see it going #1 on the Hot 100, maybe top 5. They might be #1 on the real chart though. LMFAO will remain Hot 100 #1 until either Katy Perry or Bad Meets Evil have significant enough sales and airplay to replace them.

I just had a thought - if LMFAO overtake Adele on the YTD sales chart...

PLEASE......

Don't worry, that's not going to happen.

Even if it does, it definitely won't in the chart including airplay, which is the chart everybody will remember, and will count for records, etc. Adele's got that one in the bag.

Me either, I just don't get the Hot 100 rules at all, whatever sells most should be number 1!

Don't forget that both Lighter's and Move like Jagger's video are coming out next week. So it is going to be a fight between maroon 5 and bad meets evil for the #1 spot on the hot 100. Well, it depends on how much the lfn remix will sell next week also. 3 way battle for the #1 spot.

lmfao won't overtake Adele, they have no chance. Rolling in the deep has sold 4.6 or 7 million (i can't remember which) ytd (upto date totals) and it is the biggest radio song of the year so far (it out peaked wmn airplay :() and the biggest multi format/crossover hit for years). lmfao will never.

^ How do you know the Lighters video is coming out next week? I hope it is, but I just read an interview where Bruno said it's coming out "soon". Which could very well mean next week, but they said the Space Bound video was coming out "soon", and then we had to wait for 4 months.

About Last Friday Night aswell, I thought the remixes had already been released. Or are we getting another remix (if they're aiming for #1, they should release all the remixes on the same week, and seperate them so the Katy Perry stans have to buy the remix EP, and then the remix with the featured artist seperately. I've heard rumours about a Rebecca Black remix, but I don't think that'd be a good idea at all. I don't think many people would buy it.

If she's doing an artist remix, she needs to pick an artist with a big fanbase in the US, who are suited for the song. I'm thinking someone like David Guetta or Glee Cast, or maybe even Pitbull or Ke$ha or someone.

I don't like it when artists act all desperate to get #1 like The Saturdays do in the UK sometimes, but I can make an exception in this case. It almost seems like Katy doesn't even care, but I'd love to see her get the 5 #1s! She needs to do something drastic to promote it!

It's apparently Missy Elliot on the remix, and she's so relevant right now so it'll be really well...

I did actually hear one of her songs on Radio 1 yesterday.

I like Missy Elliot, so the remix could be good. But yeah, she's probably not going to sell that much. Although Katy's fanbase should still buy it I guess.

I hope the song is remixed quite a lot aswell. I liked the S&M remix, but all they did to the instrumental was add a few drums in. I think they could've done more tbh. If it's a Missy Elliott remix, they could make it more urban. Like put in more guitar, have an urban percussion pattern, or something like that, like in E.T.

Oh, Maroon 5 don't have a video yet? Maybe they will challenge for #1 in that case. I sort of assumed a video was the reason it had climbed to the top 10 again before AGT anyway.

RITD has sold 4.692m in total, with some of those sales coming rom last year. It'll obviously be #1 in the 'official' year end chart which incorporates airplay but as per my stance on the BBH100, getting #1 on the year end sales chart should be a much more meaningful achievement. If Party Rock Anthem has I Gotta Feeling-esque staying power I have a feeling (no pun intended) it could challenge Adele :(

It doesn't matter who is on the remix, Katy stans will buy it anyway just to make it number one the week after next week. Although LFN will be against Lighters which has the video out and How to Love keeps increasing too.

Moves Like Jagger is not a contender at this point.

Ellie Goulding is yet to reach Hot 100 but don't forget that Lights has reached #76 on album chart so the demand is there.

I'm not sure if the Lighters video will be out next week. All they said is that it's coming out "very soon". That could mean next month, for all we know.
It was filmed two weeks ago so I don't know what's the point in waiting

Yes, but lots and lots of music videos have a longer gap. As I said before, take Space Bound. It was filmed back in February or March or something, and it only got released about a month ago.

I'm not saying they'll wait 4 months for Lighters, what with it being almost at the top of iTunes and everything. But we don't really know when it'll be out. It'll probably be out next week.
