STRANGE CLOUDS! I love the song, it's exactly what I wanted B.o.B. to be doing, more of the Bet I and So So type stuff.

If anybody cares, the YTD top 10 in the US atm:

1. Adele, “Rolling in the Deep” – 5.1m

2. Katy Perry f/Kanye West, “E.T.” – 4.6m

3. LMFAO, “Party Rock Anthem” – 3.9m

4. Cee Lo Green, “f*** You” – 3.5m

5. Pitbull f/Ne-Yo, Afrojack, “Give Me Everything” – 3.3m

6. Lady Gaga, “Born This Way” – 3.3m

7. Jennifer Lopez f/Pitbull, “On the Floor” – 3.1m

8. Rihanna, “S&M” – 2.9m

9. Chris Brown f/Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes, “Look at Me Now” – 2.9m

10. Black Eyed Peas, “Just Can’t Get Enough” – 2.8m

Party Rock Anthem will probably finish as the year-end #2 then.

Strange that Look At Me Now only peaked at #6 in the chart but it's #9 in the YTD chart! :o It really suffered from its lack of airplay though. Its airplay was really poor, but it managed to sell bucketloads nonetheless.

E.T. has to be the surprise hit of the year really. When I heard it for the first time back in summer 2010, I never, ever, even dreamt that the song would be that massive. Infact, I didn't even like the song a whole lot back then. It just seemed like such an insignificant song. Yet it became one of the biggest hits of the following year! Just goes to show really.

I have this strange feeling Party Rock Anthem might dethrone Rolling In The Deep...

That's exactly what I thought...

I love all those songs  except "Look At Me Now" as I've only heard it a few times. Cee Lo at #4  and people complain about him being in the YTD Top 50 in the UK! I do hope PRA can dethrone RITD but even if it doesn't it'll make a brilliant EOY Top 2 - RITD is my favourite from Adele.

^ To be fair, Cee-Lo's song wasn't very popular in 2010 compared to here. It took ages to take off, and I wouldn't be surprised if most people in the US didn't really know the song until the very end of 2010 or early 2011.

About Party Rock Anthem vs. Rolling in the Deep, I don't think it will beat Adele. Maybe in the distant future, but I don't think it will within the next 3 months. It's only #10 on iTunes now, and Adele is still selling very well (was still in the top 20 last time I heard).

I'd think the weekly sales gap between PRA and RITD is a bit too low now for LMFAO to overtake Adele. Both are still in the top 20. Plus, remember those figures are rounded to the nearest 100k so there could still be as much as 1.3m between the two. LMFAO would have to be outselling Adele by probably upwards of 100k every week which I doubt is happening.

Also, declaring E.T. the 'surprise hit of the year' is surely ignoring the elephant in the room (Rolling In The Deep).

Highly doubt that, with PRA #10 and RITD (still incredibly top 20) #17.

Yeah, RITD was a surprise hit aswell. Infact, all that top 10, apart from Born This Way and S&M, I would not have imagined would be such big hits when I first heard them! :o

For example, I had no idea Just Can't Get Enough would even be a single when I first listened to it, when I first listened to Look At Me Now was just after it was put on US iTunes, and I thought it would free-fall never to be seen again after a few weeks, when I first heard PRA it was someone's record of the week on Radio 1, I thought it would be a low top 10 hit in the UK, and flop/not be released in the US, and I believe in the Give Me Everything thread on here I said "I hope it makes top 40".

But I think E.T. was the most surprising of all of them to me. Maybe just because I heard it SO long ago. And like with Just Can't Get Enough, I never would've guessed it would even be a single! Last Friday Night, on the other hand, I knew would be a hit eventually from first listen, and was an obvious future single.

Where'd you get this from? Is there some site that tracks it?

Someone on a forum I was looking at posted it. I think it was ATRL.

I'm not sure where they got it from, but I think they do like vidcapper does here and uses the given sales data each week to estimate the sales as close as possible. I remember Billboard also giving us the YTD top 20 in sales at the end of June.

Quite a good YTD top 10 - I HATE PRA and FY with a passion though, both 0/10 easily :puke: Amazing top 2 anyway, both in my YTD top 10

I L-O-V-E Party Rock Anthem... Still sounds kinda fresh

But no way did I think E.T. would be as huge as it was! Seems like it's been in the charts forever! And so happy how well J-lo's done .... I remember a while back someone said 'Oh, this will flop on it's face' ... And it also sounds so fresh!!

Adele back at #1. :D

Maroon 5 are at 86.1%. I'm sure that's slightly more than they were the last time Adele was #1 :( Meh, hopefully she can pull away some more - are the muic channels actually playing the SLY video yet?

Edited by Bré

Maroon 5 falling away again, down to 79.4% :D 'Rolling In The Deep' continues to be top 20 as well, at #18.

15. 5 O'Clock (feat. Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen) - T-Pain

Lily Allen?! Not a name I ever expected to see in the US iTunes top 15 especially since she's 'quit music' now.

26. Nothing - The Script

Could this actually outpeak 'For The First Time' (#23)? Absolutely shocked at their continued success in the USA.

51. Hangover (feat. Flo Rida) - Taio Cruz

That's what you get for ditching the UK Taio. You get FLOP.

Glee update:

41. Fix You (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

62. Run the World (Girls) [Glee Cast Version] - Glee Cast

65. Out Here On My Own (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

68. Spotlight (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

74. It's All Over (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

80. Cool (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

'Fix You' to be the first 'hit' of the series then.

On the Lily Allen point, I was shocked too! But it's actually only a sample (the song heavily borrows the '5 o'clock in the morning' bit from Who'd Have Known. Random choice of sample but people seem to like it
Can anyone tell me where Nicole Scherzinger is in the top 1000 please
