Upcoming third album by James Morrison, lead by the new single "I Won't Let You Go". A clip of album track "Slave to the Music" is available to listen to here. I've always quite liked his music, and this sounds very promising. "Broken Strings" is a modern-day classic, so anything similar to that on this album would please me greatly. The album is released on September 26.

Tracklisting:

01. In My Dreams

02. 6 Weeks

03. I Won't Let You Go

04. Up (feat. Jessie J)

05. Slave To The Music

06. Person I Should Have Been

07. Say Something Now

08. Beautiful Life

09. Forever

10. The Awakening

11. Right By Your Side

He is one of the artists I like but don't know why, in particular Broken Strings, Wonderful World and You Give Me Something.

According to his official site, the lead single is "I won't let you go".

Says James: "I feel like I've been locked away for so long now, but I'm ready to break free. There have been some big things happening in my life, but I've stayed positive and channeled them all into this album. I've given it everything I've got and I honestly think it's my best album so far. I really hope you will agree and come and share the songs with me at the shows…"

I almost cried when I saw there would be a Jessie J collaboration

Still, I can't wait for this; I have his first two albums and they're brilliant :D

I quite like him, not got any of his stuff though :( Gonna have to remedy that.

Cannot wait for his return! Where the hell has he been? Saw him in concert once was faultless! Great artist, looking forward to his comeback.

Hyped for this, I love James Morrison.

Two fantastic albums so far, obvs the Jessie J duet will be a highlight!

He's posted another album track :) "Right by your side"

Hi everyone, so I told you the album is coming in September and it s called The Awakening . I m really excited about it and there are going to be various interviews and bits of filmed footage appearing on the websites soon now telling a bit more of the story. I wanted to give you a little taster of the music now though, so here is a clip of me recording live last week at a studio in Crouch End, London. It s a new album track called Right By Your Side .

It s a really personal song for me and I hope you grow to love it as much as I do. Anyway, enjoy it with my love , James. X

Really looking forward to hearing some new stuff (obviously the Jessie J collab more than the others.) from him. I know everyone else seems to love 'Broken Strings', 'Wonderful World' or 'You Give Me Something'. But I actually adore 'Please Don't Stop the Rain'. So anything like that song for me, and I'll be well away!

Yes, i am the same. That's his best song.

I'm guessing the lead single isn't on air/on sale, as it's down on the release schedule for September 19?

The release for 'I Won't Let You Go' has been brought forward to August 29, and the second single has already been decided, it seems, as 'Up' with Jessie J - maybe the record label are hoping it will be another "Broken Strings" for him?
It does appear to be like that. Given Jessie J's popularity at the moment, 'Up' /would/ increase awareness of James' brilliant-ness :D (I still wish he could've got another artist to duet with, but it's his work not mine).

Aye I'm really looking forward to this and I'm sure if he releases that song he'll get a bit more of exposure and a boost like he did with Broken Strings but like you say I just wish he would have chosen a different person.

I already love it on the first listen

It's alright. I'll give it time. But i've heard 3 other songs that are making the album and i haven't been impressed.

Thanks - too mournful for me, that one. I've seen a couple of youtubes from his recent European performances and there seem a few like that.

I'll be interested to hear the Jessie J track, she's as different to him as anyone could be.
