I've only just recently came across Austra in West's Personal Chart, I grew to love it, for some reason I prefer Lose It over The Choke though, but I still found a good discovery.

Austra are an interesting band and remind me of The Knife a bit.. I do prefer Lose It to The Choke though.

 

My choice (Rubik) was pretty obvious as I wanted to enter something Finnish and a proper pop song. If you like Laws of Gravity, please listen to World Around You which perhaps lacks the twist of LoG but is a great song nevertheless.

I like Austra's album, it's like a vague cross between The Knife and Florence. It's not absolutely amazing or anything but definitely has a few good tracks on it, would have scored points from me in a normal contest.

Their latest album 'Solar' starts magnificent but loses its steam a bit towards the end. Worth listening without a doubt.

That's exactly what I thought of when I listened to 'The Choke' for the first time. What I'd imagine Florence & The Machine would sound like given an indie dance style remix.

ah... I knew I heard the track somewhere else before I just couldn't pin it. Epic fail on my part -_- my memory is not as good as it once was :(

I'm only kidding, I charted it thinking wow this is a great discovery too and was going to send it to BJSC, it wasn't until I checked the previous songs list that I realised myself that we had all heard it a few months back. :D

Austra actually remands me of La Roux. I never detected a Florence similarity. Then again, I really dislike Florence.

West sees pretty much no love for the track he sent. Before the voting started I honestly thought the song could pick up many big pointers.

Tirren gets a lift off from the bottom 5 and Ellie and the Oscars are ridiculously close to the top spot!

That's the highest I've ever been in any of these competitions. :cheer:

I thought Dom was one of the weaker tracks in there, so am not surprised to see it towards the bottom. With my votes about to come up it will only fall too! :drama:

Ghosty gets a huge boost which brings him right into the centre of the scoreboard - neither cold nor hot. Air France receive points to extend the lead but Austra are not resting having picked up the full 12.

 

'Anna Sun' was another song which I didn't think that much of, sounded like typical pop-rock that gets quite annoying after a few listens.

Don't think Blouse are going to get many 20 pointers. Not that kind of really love it track (apart from me!) it seems. Picking up a lot of middling points (for which I am very grateful!)

Hits, having appeared to enter the current European hit (shocker haha!), himself is placed 13th.

No love for the host entry saddens me however.
