I just found my next song. I have a winner. :o

I have the perfect song for this. I'm listening to it now and just want to start floating around space with a bunch of cats.

:D :D :D

Great job with hosting Pavel, I honestly didn't expect to win when the initial votes were revealed. I'm glad the majority love 'Flames' too!

Poor Thomsen though, he and Doctor Blind really are incredibly consistent with their song choices.

Love the top 2 tracks, thanks for running this Pavel.

Promised you points yesterday but could not actually remember how many (not allowed tell either at that point of course). Just realised I gave it 1 point, haha.

Really strange. Must have grown on me alot since I recall giving it the points it deserves - more than one for sure

Edit! He appeared!

Am pleased that Karl X Johan won and, alas, not at all surprised! I am however completely surprised that Syntax picked up so many sets of 20 points though, I may have to revisit it as it wasn't in my final set at all. :o

Well done Ryan! :D

Syntax was easily my favourite entry.

Oh, and to anyone who enjoyed Tamer Animals I'd like to recommend this. Just as good. Was in doubt which one to enter of those two.

Oh that's fine! Although I only got a point, not points. :(

Nah, seriously, it finished 11th which is so close to top 10 that I can't be too disappointed and there were three people who loved it enough to include it in their top 2 - the aim is to send something that some people love so that does me just fine.

None of the songs I liked finished inside the top ten. :/ 'No Love' is brilliant! The production towards the end especially.
Glad you loved 'No Love', I agree that the production is great and it's musically that I was really attracted to it also... the lyrics are kinda Human League-esque which appeals to me as I've got a soft spot for the 80s but I can see why they wouldn't appeal to others.

Wahoo! Excellent winner. :D As I said earlier in the thread "Flames" along with "Tamer Animals" and "No Love" were by clearly by far the best tracks there - but the standard elsewhere was still high and consistent which made ordering the rest of the tracks quite difficult.

I am very pleasantly surprised to have done as well as I did, especially after Grebo's comments in the thread earlier. I don't take any notice of BJSC whatsoever (save for anything that crosses over to the main forum) so it was an unfortunate coincidence that I ended up picking (out of my shortlist of 10!) the one track that had already been entered on BJSC.. but it turned out that it was a good choice anyway.

Thanks to Pavel for running UP6 - making the results really exciting, and here's to UP7 with ▲▲▲!! :D

I regret giving Other Lives - Tamer Animals only 1 point. Looking back, definitely deserved more points.
Well done ▲▲▲!!! Not one of my favorite tracks but to be honest I said at the beginning that I would be happy with any one of 30 tracks winning and so I was!
Nevermind Grebo!

13 - 16 - 8 - 8 - 11 - 9

I cannot believe how consistantly I do in this. Well who knows, maybe either I'll get a Top 5 or a bottom 5 next time out!!!!

Oh and one more thing. Much as Pavel has done a great job hosting, please don't follow his method of revealing the votes. Sorry Pav but it's been great apart from that.

It added a good twist - particularly as my favourite song came from nowhere to grab third place - but it did stifle discussion a little bit. Maybe it could be done the other way round with the top six scores revealed first followed by the bottom six scores.

Of course Ryan may have a new twist up his sleeve

Again, no offence Pavel, but this method did mean you could see the winner a mile off if you knew a few things about the posters involved. You can tell who is likely to vote for what by their 15-01 points compared to what similar people have voted for which meant that you could tell Ryan was likely to have received about 6 maximum scores.

Aside from that very minor thing, the edition was a great one though so well done Pav.

Obviously Ryan will now be spending the next couple of months ensuring that UPVII is the prettiest edition ever.

I didn't know Tirren entered Rebecca & Fiona in UP5 until after confirmation closed, so I kinda knew then that it wouldn't set the scoreboard alight given that it wasn't that successful in the previous contest. I should've checked before I assumed Rebecca & Fiona were 'unknown' to Buzzjack. :P My mistake, and I have lots of ideas for the next contest. :D
I've already discovered two tracks and contemplating using one of them in UP#7. It's nothing like The Storm but hopefully would be a track people enjoy nonetheless.
Hooray for Earth seem to have jinxed themselves a bit when they chose the title. Just about half the voters have now mentioned how it deserved better, yet it ended at a measely 11th. (I'm no better myself, loved it yet still only gave 7 points)

Yeah... by not posting the results :D

Is everyone okay with me doing the next one? I know I didn't do the best job with the ChC one...

I do recall you doing an excellent job with an earlier edition though... people are only taking the Michael a bit...

Do you actually want to host one?
