 Poor man's Te Amo? It sounds more like Hard, and even then not very much!

Okay, in my opinion I think her vocals on both tracks sound reasonably similar rather than the song as a whole.

I just find this a bit cringey and think Man Down would do better as a single. :)

'Man Down' is the song I mostly skip now along with 'Fading'.

It's annoying 'Complicated' and 'Skin' have never been considered singles, both brilliant.

'Complicated' and 'Fading' are my favourite album tracks. I'd rank them 2nd and 3rd behind 'California King Bed' actually. But I can't see either of them working as singles if I'm honest...
I'll never get the obsession with 'Man Down' ... it's my least favourite on the album :(.

Same here, that and Skin. Everything else I absolutely love.

I love Cheers although I agree with Sabrina, I'm not sure that we need anymore singles from this album now, it was very much my soundtrack to December 2010

Man Down is the best track on Loud! :o

Haha you know me too well! But yes, Liam...shame on you for suggesting it sounds anything like the amazingness of 'Hard'!

Admittedly I have just listened to 'Cheers' for the first time in over six months and I must say I quite like it! Didn't really listen to it after disliking it on the first listen, should've played it more at first to get into it I guess ha. Still hate the intro and middle eight with the people supposedly cheering for the weekend etc. If there was a radio edit without that I'd be happy for it to be a single.

I agree that Hard is totally amazing on a level Cheers will never be!

thank god there is some people on here that agree with me on Man Down i really don't like it, this however i love.

Yawn. Really didn't want another single tbh, especially not this..
I guess this in September, new stuff November/December.
Rihanna

Rihanna Navy! "Cheers (Drink to That)" is the new single from LOUD! Now drink to that...if you're 21+ of course!

From her official Facebook.

Somehow ended up really (rather) liking ALL SIX singles now without ever having checked out the record

A VERY GOOD POP ALBUM OR NOT?!

I'd say so, the only weak link for me personally is 'Man Down'. And the likes of 'Skin' and 'Complicated' take a while to grow. She's been pretty consistent with how good her albums are since 'Good Girl Gone Bad' imo - really loved all three.
I totally agree with most of Jack's post - Man Down is my favourite track. I would think you'd struggle with liking the album as from what I can tell, you're not as much of a pop fan as say me or Jack, but seeing as you liked the all the singles you should definitely enjoy the album. I'd agree on giving Skin a few listens but Complicated was instant for me, so I'd replace it with Faded in the 'growers' catergory. Raining Men (Nicki Minaj duet) is a bit love/hate (I'm not keen myself, it's good but disappointing as a Minaj duet, probably the worst track for me) but aside from that if you enjoy the singles I'd definitely recommend the album.

I get the feeling 'Skin' will be one of your favourites. If you like the 6 singles and then that song, I'd recommend the album to you. She's been steadily growing and growing with each album and I'd say this is a better pop album than GGGB. I don't think it'll age as quickly either.

Yeah I think there was only about three tracks I didn't click with on the first few listens of the album which was Skin, Raining Men and Man Down. I now like Man Down and Skin, but I ALWAYS skip Raining Men.
It's about as solid as a pop album can get in this decade really. It's got a hit-miss rate along the lines of Born This Way - pretty much every track works bar the odd minor blip. Definitely her best album to date, or at least on a par with Rated R.
This is one of my least faves. Man Down grew on me so much, I think I'd rather have that now than this. I do like the "cheers to the freakin' weekend" bit though.
