What?

If you're talking about Chasing Cars, I doubt it's got that many multi-buys. It's a bit different with Someone Like You, because in theory hundreds of thousands of people could have more than one copy of the song, but with other songs, I think the only reason it'll get bought more than once is if people delete the song, and want it again. And physical copies of songs can be bought more than once aswell.

Although, in the US, I think they have an age limit on the chart.

Why do people delete songs that they've paid for?

I never delete anything, unless I really hate the song, and even then I always make sure I can get it back in the future (so don't completely delete it). And people do this with songs that they've spent money on?

Does this ever happen to you...?

I was listening to KP's 'Teenage Dream' on my iPod this morning, then suddenly thought 'When on earth did I buy this? '(*). I certainly don't remember doing so!

(*) I'm not talking about having downloaded it illegally, either.

It's far more common for me to think 'Why on earth did I download this'.

I've never deleted a song, for the reasons you say, but I know some people who say they do.

Sometimes for me, I end up with songs I don't really like on my mp3 player from albums or compilations, so I always skip them, and then I completely forget they're even on there after a while.

The US does have an age limit with songs. I think we need this system in force as it's not healthy, especially acts who are trying to get into the top 40. Obviously it isn't the X-Factor as that hasn't started yet (wish it was banned), has it been in one of the soaps?

Out of interest, where did that girl from hollyoaks (dont watch it) make in the I-tunes chart?

Er... no we shouldn't - that's even worse than the idea of having airplay in our official charts. If a song from a few years back sells enough to go T40 - then it should be in the chart. ^_^ If we had the same rule as the US, then Joe McElderry would have been Christmas Number One :puke: :puke: :puke:

I'd relax the rules for Christmas.......it's nice to see "All I Want For Christmas Is You" in the chart every year. We all know that Cowell rigs the chart, hence the multi-buy rule scrapped last Christmas. I am sure "What's My Name" or "Surfin' Bird" sold more than "When We Collide".

The girl from Hollyoaks, Abi Phillips. Her single 'Summer Sunshine' featuring Fugative is out on July 31st on iTunes

There have been many ridiculous posts on here over the years, and this is certainly up there.

Although the single track has been on sale since early June

If anybody cares, I've FINALLY found out why Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO got top 40 on iTunes. It was used in this advert:

Also, it sounds a lot like this song by Afrojack:

Abi Phillips for number 1! In Hollyoaks, she's actually the worst actress I've ever seen, but Summer Sunshine is a TUNE (and NOT a Corrs cover btw :P)!

seriously, you post some weird stuff, the charts are fine they are and they ain't gonna change so get used to it

and I'm pretty sure people buying EXACTLY the same song is rare? unless their wild stans or something, there's 60 million people in the UK

I think quite a few people might've multi-bought Surfin' Bird, to be fair.

But yeah, I think the methodology for counting the charts is fine as it is. The only thing I don't like is when songs like Umbrella by JLS get lots of downloads and somehow aren't eligible to chart. That never made sense to me.

Abi Phillips  She's improved so much in Hollyoaks though. No longer laughable! Summer Sunshine would be fantastic and adored by Buzzjack if Fugative wasn't in it. Missing You got top 150 after the exposure of it on Hollyoaks what is in incredible as nobody knew who she was. I will be downloading the song on Sunday so lets just hope she promotes it next week and gets herself another top 100 hit.

Did you not see her angry at Theresa the other day when she realised she was seeing Ethan too? That was abysmal acting, she made Theresa look like Kate Winslet by comparison! :o

It's nothing new from Joinwithus. He's always bleating on about how Simon Cowell apparently rigs the chart and how the chart should have new rules added to make it less inclusive. Best to just ignore him.

As much as I hate seeing my least favourite song of all time back in the f***ing top 40 AGAIN I completely respect its right to still be in the chart if people are still buying it for whatever reason.

Simon Cowell would never get away with rigging the chart tbh. Not to mention, the highest person in the chart that has anything to do with him is probably Nicole Scherzinger, and let's face it, Right There is phenomenal.

You really do have antiquated, silly and quite frankly rubbish ideas.

A song is a song and for each unit it sells, it should count as one unit towards the chart compilation, regardless of who bought it.

What makes you qualified to decide who should be allowed to buy song units to contribute towards the chart?

only just realised Chasing Cars is back in the top 40  probably won't get there officially this week or next week but should definitely get a few more weeks in the top 75
