Sara, Beyonce and Alesha all fall in the bottom 15 for the second time running, and four other qualifiers also fail to make it through to next year leaving exactly half that did. Duffy's recent flop material seems to have had an effect on her older stuff as both Mercy and Warwick Avenue tumble 21 and 20 places respectively. Alphabeat also take a large fall and Better In Time is another fall for Leona after Bleeding Love fell out of the top 10.

Take A Bow may only have been behind Robyn in the qualifying round, but is below 5 other qualifiers here, Britney has an odd round, Womanizer takes only a small fall, Break The Ice qualifies after a huge flop last year but Piece of Me takes a dramatic tumble from top 10 to barely qualifying! Four songs fall from the top 10, one act has replaced themselves.

Big climbs for Goldfrapp and M.I.A. see them qualify for the play-offs, Time To Pretend will be MGMTs entry in the top 100 this year and The Saturdays make an impressive leap to 5th too. Katy Perry unlucky for a second year, this year missing out by a solitary point. Leona's poor run continues but she does have one top 100 entry this year.

A much tighter round this time but Disturbia and Just Dance qualify again, with Coldplay joining them this year. Rihanna has 6 top 6 finishes from the first four contests!

 

Qualifying so far are Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga, Lady GaGa & Beyonce, Lily Allen, Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna, Robyn and Robyn!

Considerably more pleased with these results than the 2007 ones. Coldplay finishing 2nd and not far off 1st for the year is brilliant (they did well last year as well of course but they've improved this year :D). The rest of the top 6, while being predictable BJ-friendly qualifiers, aren't offensive at all (and are actually very good bar 'Disturbia' and 'Just Dance' - figures they'd be the highest of the five but still). Very pleased to see the right MGMT song going through this time. And while I didn't give points to 'Paper Planes' it's still very good. 'Run' is decent enough as well (although the original is better) and I haven't heard 'A&E'.

Glad Rihanna came out on top and 'Just Dance' qualified! :D Good to see 'Up' and 'Hot N Cold' do good too!

I think I prefer the 2007 top 10 myself, despite enjoying a few of their singles, I was never much of a fan of 'Viva La Vida'. Nice climb for 'Up!' though.

What was last years number 2 - may be being blind but looking at last years positions it isn't there
