All Saints and Jamelia take large tumbles - I'm surprised people remember either song to be honest.... 35 - NE Lily Allen 'LDN' 123 34 - NE Muse 'Starlight' 128 33 - 11 Snow Patrol 'Chasing Cars' 129 (if only Bre had voted, this might not have qualified!) 32 - 12 Lily Allen 'Smile' 131 31 - 49 Kooks 'Naïve' 131 30 - 26 Sugababes 'Red Dress' 135 29 - 16 Justin Timberlake 'SexyBack' 136 28 - NE Bodyrox ft. Snow Patrol fall a lot with Chasing Cars but hold strong with Set The Fire... Sigur Ros come close but not close enough and the (baffling to these ears) success of Cascada continues. 10 - 28 Muse 'Supermassive Black Hole' 224 09 - 15 Pink 'U & Ur Hand' 225 08 - 08 Christina Aguilera 'Hurt' 225 07 - 10 Shakira ft. Wyclef Jean 'Hips Don't Lie' 230 06 - 29 Rogue Traders 'Voodoo Child' 248 05 - NE Rihanna 'Unfaithful' 251 04 - 07 Pink 'Who Knew' 274 Muse and Rogue Traders make large and quite surprising leaps, Pink makes a couple of decent climbs and Rihanna's 'Unfaithful' becomes the highest placed qualified song yet, a feat I doubt will be beaten, what's most surprising to me is that it wasn't here in the first place! Which just leaves the top 3 the same as last year but in a slightly different order. 03 - 02 Beyonce 'Irreplacable' 299 02 - 03 Girls Aloud 'Something Kinda Oooh' 302 01 - 01 Nelly Furtado 'Maneater' 320 The join the following in the final: Amy Winehouse 'Back to Black' Coldplay 'Viva La Vida' Girls Aloud 'Biology' Kelly Clarkson 'Since U Been Gone' Lady GaGa & Beyonce 'Telephone' Lady GaGa 'Bad Romance' Lady GaGa 'Just Dance' Lady GaGa 'Poker Face' Lily Allen 'The Fear' Madonna 'Hung Up' Rihanna ft. Jay-Z 'Umbrella' Rihanna 'Disturbia' Rihanna 'Only Girl (In The World)' Robyn 'Dancing On My Own' Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat'
August 13, 201113 yr A second finalist for Girls Aloud! I doubt they'll get one from 2003 or 2004 (unless 'Love Machine' sneaks in), but hopefully 'Sound of the Underground' scores them a hattrick in the final. I'm also glad Rihanna and Shakira have got into the playoffs; Shakira's another one whom I hope achieves another final/playoff entry.
August 14, 201113 yr I wouldn't have knocked out CC unless I was feeling really kind towards The Automatic when I was voting. It would have been #35 but it would still qualify. At least it's had a big year-on-year tumble :D EDIT: Actually, even if I gave The Automatic a 20 Snow Patrol would still have qualified wouldn't they. I wouldn't have given any points to 36-38. Coldplay are the sole flag-fliers for the male population in the final so far! (Other than Jay-Z's tiny contribution to Umbrella which is cut out in some radio edits anyway) Edited August 14, 201113 yr by Bré
August 14, 201113 yr Although if I had voted Sigur Rós would have been top 10 because they would have been my 20! :( :( :( I was actually going to vote at the last minute again but I've been really busy the past few days so I forgot about it. Really annoyed about that now. Edited August 14, 201113 yr by Bré

Taking the competition as a whole its chart run before this year was 9-6-29-102. Down in the 300s this year. Although if I had voted Sigur Rós would have been top 10 because they would have been my 20! :( :( :( I was actually going to vote at the last minute again but I've been really busy the past few days so I forgot about it. August 14, 201113 yr I'm a bit BLAH about the qualifying top 3 here to be honest. Barnstormingly amazing pop songs like Red Dress, Beware Of The Dog, Stoned In Love etc missing out in favour of the great at the time but fairly overrated Irreplacable or Something Kinda Oooh (which does nothing for me nowadays) seems a bit unjust. CHRIST KNOWS how Unfaithful got that high up either! Awful song, AWFUL vocal!
August 14, 201113 yr Something Kinda Ooh is a terrible finalist. Generic pop at it's most disposable.
August 14, 201113 yr didn't vote in this, but :( at MCR, Heartbeats and Munich all bombing out, that said, it is excellent to see Sigur Ros and Muse doing so well, annoyingly the former would've probably been top 10 had I voted
August 14, 201113 yr I hand responsibility of Hoppípolla's failure to Chart Wizard. Bré's good name cleared ONCE AGAIN.
August 14, 201113 yr While we're handing out blame, I blame DaneilMFAO's failure at Rihanna looning for Unfaithful missing the top 3! :P He should've put it first like I did -_-
