Singer Robbie Williams turns his hand to a menswear label

Take That singer Robbie Williams introduces his menswear label, Farrell, with a snappy but stylish video.

See here for video  http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-featur...wear-label.html

Hip, hot and made from Harris TweedWatch the second instalment in the trilogy of short videos narrated by the Take That singer, introducing and explaining the background to his collection, Farrell. The label is named after Williams's grandfather Jack Farrell, aka Jack the Giant Killer, who was a notable dresser in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, and who lived a hard life but lived it well. The Farrell range was created to honour Jack's legacy and the brand motto is 'Wear it in, wear it out'.

Expect Brit classics such as the Harry Palmer-style Mac, ¾-length coat and cable-knit cardigan. Accessories include a Homberg, flat cap, cricket cap as well as polka dot silk scarves.

'It's ceremony, it's tradition, it's almost like magic,' Williams narrates in the video.

'There's that sort of knowing that you have about yourself just before you leave the house and you look in the mirror and you go, 'Yeah, I've got it completely right'. You've got your shirt in just a particular way. You're wearing your jacket in a particular manner. You've just taken an age on preparing your hair even though you don't want anybody to think you've taken an age with preparing your hair. It's your own unique style, you know, that only suits you. That's why you're putting all the effort in. It's saying something without being noticed. That's all in the aura that you put out.'

The autumn/winter 2011 the Farrell collection will be sold exclusively through House of Fraser and online at very.co.uk. Prices from £35 for a light weight T-shirt and go up to £350 for the ¾-length coat.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS LAUNCHES FARRELL CLOTHING

I think it’s quite interesting that Robbie Williams has a vested interest in the design of a menswear range where he talks about the influence of his Grandfather as the guiding light for the focus and direction. He has said: ‘He (Farrell, his grandfather) was concerned that being brought up by two women (Mum and sister), I was going to be soft for life.’ Erm, have you read his book? Robbie you are a big soft lad! Faced with that dilemma of being so soft the American market just didn’t get him and yet doing his best to seem like a ‘lads-lad’ by being covered in “trash stamps” and being an investor in Port Vale football club…

It’s no doubt that Robbie is full of contradictions, however first impressions of the brand are very good – the subtlety of hiding any mention of the label throughout the clothing and being all about the tailored cut is a brave choice but also a relief. If you look at “Pretty Green” the label supported by Liam Gallagher and a very camp looking Paul Weller which supports that “edgy street” culture of wearing your label on your sleeve (metaphorically) Farrell is definitely one to watch – The range is released in September through House of Fraser and Very.co.uk.

I refuse to watch even a clip of the truly awful This Morning. Not even for Robbie and his range of bunnets. -_-

How about this one then, Robbie looks

He does indeed

It's funny though. This new clothing range of his looks so stylish and upmarket. Yet most of the time the man himself looks like he got dressed in the dark. Or is wearing some hideous ensemble for a bet....

I know the clip is in black and white, but I spotted those brown shoes that seem to go everywhere
This is supposed to be formal clothing? They are a bit too fun for formal and definitely not informal. Ok one piece of them is stylish but if you put them all together it is a bit too much. A fashionist, a singer, an actor, an artist ok but they are pretendious for the rest imo. What is the target group for this colection? They are too fashionable for men in their 40s yet to stylized and expensive-looking for men in their twenties...

While saying this I Imagine myself into this!

THAT would be a blast!

Yes, and if you buy one you get a free whippet/pigeon/ferret (take your pick)
65 quid for a pair of joggy bottoms? Anyone who spends that has more money than sense -_-
I can actually imagine Robbie wearing some of that gear. In fact, I think he wore the blue scarf at Live 8
