August 18, 201113 yr why isn't the #1 credited as Katy Perry ft Missy Elliot? Because the remix wasn't the version which contributed more to this week's sales.
August 18, 201113 yr Bloody hell, she's actually done it. Five #1s from the same album and without a re-release. :o
August 18, 201113 yr Yay for Katy!! :cheer: Great to see Drake already #13 aswell. And Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera could be a potential future #1.
August 18, 201113 yr Brilliant achievement for Katy Perry - the power of the download era combined with the power of the music video = $ucce$$ *.*
August 18, 201113 yr Well done Katy! :cheer: FOSTER THE PEOPLE TOP 10! :o :w00t: Great for Lady Gaga, Evanessence, Miranda Lambert (), David/Sia, Jason, Rihanna and Drake too.
August 18, 201113 yr Katy :D *generic grumble about BBH100 rules stopping her from equalling the record weeks ago* Foster The People top 10 :w00t: Adele out of the top 10 - it had to happen eventually but I thought she might have managed to just stay there this week. Ah well. Someone Like You up 6 and Rumour Has It still top 100 :D Really surprised to see The Script are still relevant in the USA - 'Nothing' is surely not the best choice to continue their success? Hopefully their next single will be the first single from album 3... which the US will probably get before the UK -_- Coldplay and Tinie climbing :D Didn't realise the new Gym Class Heroes song was so high - I suspect I'll hate it because of Adam Levine. But I did like GCH in the past so I dunno. Cheers (Drink To That) has already outpeaked California King Bed (and Man Down) :o Titanium enters higher than Little Bad Girl did  And LBG hasn't recovered at all on iTunes yet, looks like it's going to be an enormous flop for him in the USA - have the Americans got bored of Taio already?
August 18, 201113 yr ^ Surprisingly (perhaps), most David Guetta songs seem to 'flop' in the US. He's only had one song that's been massive there (Sexy Chick). But the rest did really poorly, all missing the top 10, so it's not a surprise to me that this trend continues. Although some of the songs he's produced for other artists have been big hits, like Rock That Body and Club Can't Handle Me, and obviously I Gotta Feeling, but still, that's a small proportion of all his songs. But they didn't do as badly as LBG which went 70-out. It got to 20-something on iTunes then plummetted and is yet to reclimb like it did in the UK. EDIT: It has reclimbed a bit: 246. Little Bad Girl (feat. Taio Cruz & Ludacris) - David Guetta  'Dynamite' is STILL #71 on US iTunes  'I Gotta Feeling' is still #132. Edited August 18, 201113 yr by Bré

I'll stick with the theory 'Little Bad Girl' isn't doing well on US iTunes because the song is absolute rubbish!!! It's only selling in the UK because of who the acts involved are and that there's a music video getting heavy rotation. Stop playing the video 24/7, it'd soon rocket down iTunes in the UK. 'Titanium' needs a video. :(

That's true. I can't believe Dynamite's longevity. Well, I can, kind of. I went to the US shortly after it was initially released. It was so massive then, it's difficult to describe. But it's funny that it didn't get to #1! :o

August 18, 201113 yr Don't forget it is also currently the biggest selling single of the decade over there Is it? :o Although, again, based on what I experienced when I was there, it's not that surprising. I wonder why it's been so big though. It's not a bad song, but it's quite a standard song really, I think. There's nothing that makes it really stand out from other songs, if you get what I mean.

It's not a bad song, but it's quite a standard song really, I think. There's nothing that makes it really stand out from other songs, if you get what I mean. I'm sure it is because I remember it was the first song from 2010 to cross the 5 million Mark in the us and with it's insane longevity I doubt even love the way you lie which has also crossed it has overtaken it. I do agree with you that it does seem like a standard song but considering tik tok did similarly well and they're quite similar songs it doesn't surprise me
August 18, 201113 yr Is there a list of the best sellers of the decade over there? I'd imagine Taio, Train and Katy (CG) would have the top 3. Thrilled for her as it's the best pop album of recent years alongside 'The Fame/Monster' imo but it seems a bit gimmicky considering they rush released a remix.
August 18, 201113 yr Because the remix wasn't the version which contributed more to this week's sales. Ah thank you, so her 5th #1 is actually a solo number one?!

Thrilled for her as it's the best pop album of recent years alongside 'The Fame/Monster' imo but it seems a bit gimmicky considering they rush released a remix. I think the top 3 would be dynamite, forget you and love the way you lie, they've all passed five million and although hey soul sister has, I think some of it's sales came in 2009
