I got up at 7 and arrived by 8 and even then there were loads of people lined up for the wristbands :lol: but I don't think all 400 went, I could be wrong though.

starlight is the second (third) second, with the teaser for the video out at the end of the week....would have preferred stars and lovers or pull me under to follow the fantastic run for your life.

I hope he does x factor again, matts album can go alot of business yet if syco really stand by him, eg promote give him time etc, the album is holding steadily enough this week so far so by the end of the week his total sales will come close to 100,000 which isnt bad, i hope the album can get good sales right thru to end of the year, starlight will surely give him a boost, id lovethe album to go platnum and i think it stands a chance. I would love to know what syco were aiming for on this album sales wise and what the set target is, i think a platnum album would ensure album number 2 and if so matt will really need at least 1 killer single in order to sustain his recording deal, best of luck to him, i liked matt from the beginning of x factor, he isnt the typical x factor contestant so i hope he can buck the trend of male winners underperforming.

hope starlight will be performed on XF, it has potential to go platinum but sales need to pick up. under 100k after two weeks is good but not good enough

 

personally think Starlight will give it a boost. The sales so far are pretty good on the back of what is frankly a poor opening single. Tour ticket sales seem to have gone well and if he can keep selling through xmas he must get close to platinum. Curious to see if sales were good following chattyman - performance of Letters was amazing

Well this is a significant improvement... wouldn't have been the MASSIVE #1 SMASH people would have liked had it been lead single but it might have had more than two weeks in the top 40.

Oh for sure, this would have been the perfect song to kick off with, ach well :( C'est la vie!

can any of you explain how sales are counted for chart purposes. Starlight isn't out until 5th December but obviously you can download it now from Letters if you want (and judging by the itunes popularity bars people are) Do these sales get lost or are they counted somehow in the single sales once it's eligible to chart - god this makes me feel old

I LOOOOOVE his album! I am torn deciding which would be my album of the year, either this or Björk's Biophilia.

 

Pull Me Under is the ultimate song, perfect in every way. I originally thought the album was overproduced, and I still think it is, but the songs are way too good for that to overshadow how great the whole album is. A friend in the UK bought it for me and sent it but it still hasn't arrived :( She didn't buy it the first day, but still :P
