Posted August 24, 201113 yr http://www.musicweek.com/story.asp?storycode=1046366 RedOne reveals GaGa-Cher Lloyd collaboration Wednesday August 24, 2011 By Charlotte Otter Poker Face co-writer RedOne has revealed that Lady GaGa and 2010 X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd are collaborating on a forthcoming single. The Sony/ATV-signed composer, real name Nadir Khayat, is famous for his work with GaGa – helping to pen her UK number one hits Bad Romance and Just Dance, as well as her recent Top 10 singles Judas and Alejandro. And in the past few months he has also worked closely with Lloyd on her forthcoming debut album, which is set for release later this year. In an exclusive interview with Music Week, RedOne said the two performers would appear together on one of the album’s tracks. “It’s a track that GaGa and I wrote together a while ago and when Cher heard it she just loved it. I am in the studio putting the finishing touches to it just now and I’m really excited about it,” he said “It’s going to be a big one I think – two icons working together.” Khayat added that although Lloyd failed to win last year’s contest – coming fourth behind One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle, he saw something in the singer which excited him right from the start of the series. “With Cher, she is very special. The way she acts, the way she sings – she’s a star. A lot of artists don’t have that,” he noted. Because the track is still being worked on it has yet to be given an official title or a release date. An in-depth interview with Khayat will appear in next week’s magazine
August 24, 201113 yr I'm 99% sure they've mixed up Cher Lloyd and the real Cher... It is. I read ages ago about Cher duetting with GaGa.
August 24, 201113 yr Actually, it does sound as if he's talking about Cher Lloyd when it says Khayat added that although Lloyd failed to win last year’s contest – coming fourth behind One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle, he saw something in the singer which excited him right from the start of the series. “With Cher, she is very special. The way she acts, the way she sings – she’s a star. A lot of artists don’t have that,” he noted.' But then the 'two icons working together' bit is a bit odd, considering Cher Lloyd has literally just started out...
August 24, 201113 yr It is. I read ages ago about Cher duetting with GaGa. Yep, on a song called The Greatest. However, it looks as if Gaga will be working with this Cher too  I'm confused though in all honesty, the article is very contradictory...
August 24, 201113 yr Author I'm 99% sure they've mixed up Cher Lloyd and the real Cher... I'm 100%! Cher Lloyd an icon?! Erm, no, they specifically talk in the article about the X Factor and Cher finishing 4th :P
August 24, 201113 yr In the article, yes. But they have interpreted what RedOne said as being about Cher Lloyd just because he said Cher
August 24, 201113 yr I think wires have been crossed somewhere. Cher Lloyd might have recorded a song that Gaga/RedOne wrote in the same vein that Jennifer Lopez recorded Hypnotico. But it's the Cher that Gaga is collaborating with on a single. Who knew a year ago when I was crying in her arms after she gave me an award, that today we would record a duet. @Cher You are The Greatest. http://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga
August 24, 201113 yr 'With Cher, she is very special. The way she acts, the way she sings – she’s a star. A lot of artists don’t have that' Could be interpreted to mean real Cher's actual acting skills or Cher Lloyd's 'charisma and ego (and swagger!)'. Who knows? I can't imagine why Gaga would collaborate with Cher Lloyd so early on in her career so it does seem like somebody's got the wrong end of the stick and like chinese whispers usually do, other sources are picking it up and relaying the story as gospel before actually checking with RedOne!
August 24, 201113 yr They've just hired a new editor at MW. I hope this isn't testament to his skills
August 24, 201113 yr The quotes from RedOne only say 'Cher' in them. If you only read the quotes, it looks like he is talking about the 'real' Cher. I think it's just been a mis-interpretation.
August 24, 201113 yr Author A big red face for MW if they have got that one wrong - the two artists couldn't be more different! :o
August 24, 201113 yr I have so many friends that would love to be journalists and they can't get arrested. One of my pet hates is mistakes in articles...it's really annoys me! It's just crap journalism. Always fact check and proof read! If you can't do that you shouldn't be working for music week! The writer should have known that Redone works with a lot of artists...in the interview he is talking about working with Cher Lloyd and a duet with CHER and gaga.
August 24, 201113 yr “It’s going to be a big one I think – two icons working together.” More like a chav and a sellout.
August 24, 201113 yr “It’s going to be a big one I think – two icons working together.” More like a chav and a sellout. More like two ambitious women with some direction in their life. A quality you lack.
August 24, 201113 yr She's recorded with RedOne, I know that and I think Lady Gaga wrote a track for Cher Lloyd's album, but she doesn't have vocals on the track and we don't know if Cher has taken it for the album or what. Edited August 24, 201113 yr by Liаm
August 24, 201113 yr @Pressparty on Twitter picked this up, but has since deleted their story and set about repeating "Music Week reported the wrong Cher" to all of the people who criticized them for getting it wrong.
