As much as i would adore them to sell in Michael Buble quantities it just wont happen. That said, they could achieve a platnum selling album from such a venture.

Steps are down on new releases for a live cd release. I think this wont be very successful and will be even lucky to make the top 100, a better marketing ploy may have been better, i would suggest re-release the ultimate collection and add the live cd as part of the package.
Most of the people who would have wanted a Live CD would have bought one at the concert. The one I have of the Cardiff concert is surprisingly good quality actually!
Meanwhile the cost of the Hit Factory Live tickets have been cut to £20. I really need to do this but I'm still not sure I can afford it :(

...£20?! I thought it was like £50! I'd definitely go it was £20...most ridiculously epic lineup ever!!

EDIT: You're right. Just booked :D I know I'll be the only one under about 30 there (and definitely under 25) but given I see 80s acts all the time I'm kind of used to it by now :P Can't wait!

Anyone purchased the live album from Steps, furthermore does anyone know if it even managed to gain a place in the offical Top 200 upon release?

I'm worried for the future, they have concerts till September, and then I don't know.

They would have to find a way to stay together for the planned re-scheduling of the Hit Factory concerts.

Was Steps Reunion a bit of a fix? I mean the TV show. In the documentary it made it seem like they hadn't spoken in years and things were really awkward yet I am watching Claire Richards: My Big Fat Wedding and she meets up with Faye and Lisa and they are laughing and joking like really good friends and it was filmed in 2008.

i dont mind steps in the slightest.

that said i cant see how their music style is going to sell in the charts today. of course their back catalogue will sell whether thats nostalgia etc but i cant imagine steps releasing a contempory pop song that would sell thousands in the UK and chart respectfully next to the artists of this generation of music.

Fast forwards to 2021 with two further #2 albums and a third one on the way 🤣

I find it annoying that they took this off of streaming and even before it was taken off, Dancing Queen was unavailable for ages (apart from the live version).

I ended up just buying the CD of this so I could legally listen to their Dancing Queen cover.

I get they wanted to tidy up their back catalogue on streaming but other artists have multiple GHs on streaming without any major issue.

I was surprised they done that as it was selling away the whole time and had made platinum, im still delighted this went number 1 for them and platinum as after Gold doing so well i didnt expect this to sell even half of what it did.

I'm glad this is still on Amazon Prime Music, missing Dancing Queen though :nocheer:

Dancing Queen is playable for me on Amazon Prime, but I’m guessing it’s because I bought the CD on Amazon and it still has the Dancing Queen file attached to my account.

That was the first time I’ve scrobbled it according to my Last.fm (which has scrobbles from January 2012 onwards), so I haven’t played it since 2011... which definitely reflects how I feel about their version lol. Wouldn’t be surprised if the last time I heard it was in the week the album was released!

I wouldn’t say Dancing Queen is one of their best songs but it was nice to have something new from them after all that time and it was their first time trying to balance the vocals more and their vocals sound great in it.

To me, the song holds a special place in their history and reformation
