Yahoo Music is being replaced by something called Yahoo OMG! - I'm not making this up. And it doesn't look like James Masterton's column is going to be part of it.

I know he's sometimes controversial but I love his column and want it to continue. I think it'd be good on the OCC site? If you feel the same maybe join me e-mailing them about it...

Ouch I really noticed it today... OMG is just gossip, not music...
I think the OCC website should carry the Suedehead chart commentary :D

I agree - at least it then wouldn't have so many errors in it :P

Wondering whether last weeks commentary might have been his last full stop  Can't be bothered to listen to podcasts to be honest, I prefer these sorts of things in written form, he should just post it on his own website each week!

It's a bit sad to see his commentaries are ending. I've read almost all of them ever since I first visited Dotmusic back in August 1998. It feels like the end of an era as he is the last link with Dotmusic, all the other staff have long since moved on and all the other website features have long since disappeared.

Gathering from the article he is in talks with other internet sites to keep his commentaries going.

I do read them from time to time, the only annoying thing was the feedback he was getting from spammers, viagra etc etc

The latter was one of the reasons why Yahoo stopped the feedback for many of their features quite a few times. Plus JM's column was attracting a guy who said he had a hotline to mysterious chart compilers who compiled "The Real Chart" and was spamming his threads every week for quite a while and which caused quite a bit of disruption. When JM finally got rid of him the guy then turned up at ukmix and began to do the same there every week in the UK Charts thread..

That man was completely loopy

Nutty as a fruit cake! Yet once he got away from being delusional about that chart (over at ukmix) he was very sensible and very knowledgeable about music.
