Great list yet again!! I knew once we got to the early 2000s the quality of the lists would drastically improve :D There are about five tracks here though that are a clear cut above the rest (not that any of them will win, but you know).

 

Didn't realise that Oasis track sold enough to be in the top 40 of the year!

That's called picking on the "easy targets"...

 

Baha Men, Bob The Builder and the Tweenies are/were all aimed at kids. They're fun, catchy, danceable tracks that are easy to sing along to. In that respect they are very much well made songs and fulfill their purpose admirably. When those songs were in the charts, I was one of the "kids" they were aimed at and I certainly couldn't find fault with them in that respect. There are far worse songs here as far as I'm concerned that are/were aimed at actual teenagers/adults.

 

As for Westlife, well - no arguments there, yeah, those ones are crap. Though I do like Mariah's solo version of Against All Odds which was one of the extra tracks on the CD single here.

They arent easy targets, they are just shite songs, even if they are aimed at kids, they are still rubbish kids songs. Lovers of music are generally not going to like them because they are aimed at children so its not suprising that adults, who I assume are the general of users are going to vote against them. Even with the terrible kids songs take out, you are still left wth Westshite and Baha Men.

Went for Bob The Builder, Tweenies were preferable to him
