Posted September 2, 201113 yr Now apparently Amelle has another conviction on her hands: Press release - Fri. 2 Sept. Statement from Amelle: Following my conviction for assault today, I would like to offer my unreserved apologies to the band's fans, my bandmates, our record label and my family. I fully respect the Court's verdict and am pleased that the Judge saw fit to impose only a sentence of conditional discharge. Although I was subjected to provocation on the evening in question I do not condone violence under any circumstances and would urge anybody who finds themselves in similar circumstances to show restraint and walk away. Trashy.
September 2, 201113 yr I've always really liked Amelle but recently I found myself thinking that from interviews she's probably not the sort of person I would usually get on with, so perhaps I'd misjudged her all this time. And now another conviction for assault? She's not exactly proving me wrong.
September 2, 201113 yr Thanks Andre! When did she even commit the crime? Or is this the hair pulling thing from years ago
September 2, 201113 yr Author When did she even commit the crime? Or is this the hair pulling thing from years ago The "statement" is from their website - doubt it would be from years ago? Poor innocent sweet angel baby Keisha, having to deal with... this.
September 3, 201113 yr Author Project manager Danielle told a court Amelle turned on her when she asked her to watch where she was going. Danielle said: "She was slurring. She kind of leaned up towards my face and said something like she was going to bite my nose off. "She had her hand around my neck and it must have been there for a few seconds." Danielle, who had been chatting with friends, said she still has neck scars 11 months after the clash. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...1/Sugarage.html Happened last year then. Vile.
September 5, 201113 yr (From Wiki) On 28 April 2007, Berrabah was arrested over allegations that she had assaulted an eighteen year-old girl on the dancefloor in the Bar Med club in Surrey. No charges were brought. Berrabah was arrested again on 10 January 2008 on suspicion of causing criminal damage and a public order offence. The arrest was made in connection with an alleged attack on a car in her hometown of Aldershot on 9 January 2008. The charges were quickly dropped when it was revealed that she was not even in town at the time. On 23 September 2010, Berrabah was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after neighbours alerted the police. After pleading guilty in court, she received a 14 month driving ban and a £2000 fine. On 2 September 2011, she was convicted of common assault due to an incident 11 months prior. She was given conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 to her victim. The first one sounds like a pay-out... Second was dropped. 3rd and 4th are legit though. Wasn't aware of most of these; it's really altered my perception of her! Though I am a big believer of "There's 2 sides to every story". Doesn't change my love for the Sugababes though. Edited September 5, 201113 yr by Neil
September 5, 201113 yr Iirc, the first one was highly exaggerated by the alleged assaultee and it turned out Amelle actually acted in self-defence and didn't do anywhere near as much as reported. Hence the no charges filed. The second one was around the time Freddie got attacked and was rather lol.
September 6, 201113 yr She was lucky to get a conditional discharge. She hasnt done the band any favours by receiving negative publicity like this.
September 11, 201113 yr Author http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/21048...melle-Berrabah/ Same night as she got arrested for drink driving...
September 11, 201113 yr I wonder if Danielle would have bothered pressing charges if she hadn't of found out who Amelle was. I wonder why there aren't any pictures of the injuries as well - unlike Cheryl Cole's victim - there was a photo circulated in the press. I kind of have to say although Amelle shouldn't have reacted the way she did - I feel like DoDoo's probably trying to milk the story for more than it's worth. To quote her: "It;s been hell the last few months.." Why? It happened a year ago - and it was over withing a few seconds by the sound of it. The judge obviously thought so as well or he wouldn't have been as lenient with Amelle.
