February 17, 201213 yr I'd go for Joe McElderry as my prediction. I'd prefer him over John Barrowman but either would be pretty dire (as much as I like Joe's voice.)
February 17, 201213 yr Sami Brookes. That could actually be awesome. I always imagined her "Winner's song" to be Je Ne Sais Quoi. I'm thinking Jamelia might be our entry though.
February 18, 201213 yr It's most likely going to be a steaming pile of shite, because everyone at the BBC seems to think the Bin man and 2010's horrifically dated bore/vomitfest is exactly what Europe wants. Someone needs to show them Melodifestivalen ASAP and drill it into them that it's not a joke and they should start taking it seriously by getting people who can actually sing and some good lyricists/producers on board.
February 18, 201213 yr Oh I've no doubt that whoever they put in charge of these things (assuming our jokes aren't all true and it isn't actually an intern after all) is aware of Melodifestivalen (I hope it's the same person who got Invincible and Lena Anthem in the soundbedding for that Athletics Championship in Gothenburg in 2006 *.*). The main problem the BBC has is that pretty much every big name they approach rejects them straight away - they tried to get Barlow in 2010 but that was a no-go, and the only person left who'd say yes was Waterman.
February 18, 201213 yr On the subject of MF, I wish they'd start showing it on BBC3/4. You're assuming that wasn't SVT's doing? Unless of course some schlager loving intern was in charge of googling some Swedish music for the show.
February 18, 201213 yr Oh no, this was the BBC's own coverage that was getting the schlager treatment! Definitely the doing of a Euroqueen intern *.* I do wonder how many viewers it'd get on BBC3! That it's started trending on Twitter certainly shows it'd get a bit of a following - I reckon it'd get a fair few viewers even if just for the novelty (a la The Killing/Borgen getting a lot of interest partly because of their foreign sourcing)
February 18, 201213 yr It's gonna be Daniel Merriweather singing a tears-on-the-dancefloor Pop track produced by Calvin Harris. :kink:

February 18, 201213 yr Oh yeah, Borgen's got quite the cult following already! It might just be the circles that I dabble in but I know LOADS of people (including myself) who watch Borgen religiously but who never really got into Forbrydelsen.
February 21, 201213 yr I think Jade Ewen's going to come back and floor the lot of them myself! :w00t:
February 21, 201213 yr Jade Ewen did tweet earlier that she's meeting with the BBC today... Why else would she meet them unless it was Eurovision related? It could be amazing if she did enter, then we'd also (hopefully) finally get that solo album of hers! Punching Out needs an official release!
February 21, 201213 yr Are the BBC seriously going to enter someone potentially credible two years in a row? :o
February 21, 201213 yr Hate to burst the Euroheaven bubble (I'd love it too), but there's rumours she'll be the social media correspondent for The Voice, so it could be that :P
February 21, 201213 yr Oh well that's cool... I guess. But she hasn't actually left she Sugafakes has she? It would have to be them as a unit representing the UK.
February 21, 201213 yr The status of the Sugafakes is unknown with Amelle recording solo, Heidi prancing about on an Ice rink in Essex somewhere and Jade also recording solo. 4.0 is basically dead.
February 21, 201213 yr Oh well. All's well that ends well :heehee: By the way, LOVING the Will Young rumour *.* But I hope we hear something real soon.
February 21, 201213 yr Author Hate to burst the Euroheaven bubble (I'd love it too), but there's rumours she'll be the social media correspondent for The Voice, so it could be that :P Yeah, that's what I thought too - it would be great if she came back though!
