Because all the songs I like at the moment would be disallowed due to being too big (i.e. Bon Iver, M83 last time etc) or just too indie for anyone to be interested - as may the one I have entered, which would be a pain as I spent quite a while editing it!

But Bon Iver were allowed not so long ago. Seems rather odd.

'Midnight City' had far more BuzzJack hype than Calgary ever did. Even post contest Calgary mainly stayed in Personal Charts of the indie crowd whilst Midnight City had already had a massive crossover and was in a large amount of personal charts, most of those BJSC entrants and most of them highly. I do think it was right to be vetoed, there are many things to consider when not allowing a song.

But I'm talking about disallowing a Bon Iver song, if what Dandy* said is correct anyway. I assumed it's Holocene and Mikey probably tried to enter it as well.

 

There's no doubt Midnight City would've had an effortless Top 3 placing, if not the winner.

I thought 'last time' referred to M83 and Bon Iver, hence the misunderstanding :lol: I don't think Holocene would be vetoed tbh, and it'd be a surefire 12 from me :heehee:

Quite likely. 'Brains Out' was on my list of 'considerations' - but I don't think it's all that great.

I considered her actually but then thought that too many people already know her to warrant it not being enough of a discovery for people. PLUS although I love both of her current singles, they still pale next to White Light Moment so sending one of those having not sent that would feel a bit underwhelming for me.

I was going to change to Brains Out but I thought I'd keep with my original choice, which I prefer (just about, love both).

I'd be surprised if she wasn't confirmed by someone within the first five minutes of confirmation opening anyway. One of about five artists I'm certain will appear in this contest and it's long overdue really. I suppose White Light Moment would have been vetoed though if such a system was in place at the time (can't remember!)

I'm guessing Brains Out is in this contest somewhere and I'd be quite surprised if it isn't. Which isn't bad, because it's a catchy song (I was going to say nice, but then I remembered the chorus :kink:)
