#9 on mine too, its very close so it should shoot up to at least #6/#5 possibly even #4. :music:
Tony Bennett on course for his first UK top 40 hit in 46 years then!

Wow! What was his last hit then? I hope Body & Soul can continue to climb and even maybe make top 10. :D

Coldplay are top-10? Wow, I genuinely thought now that they'd miss out, given that 48 hours since the first download are over. So their relative sales on Wednesday are stronger than on Monday. :o

The Very Thought Of You in 1965!

His last and only UK #1 was Stranger In Paradise in 1955!

Coldplay top 10 :w00t: I'm surprised, I was sure they'd stalled! :o Tony Bennett also heading for the top 10! Wednesday is a pretty bad time to release though, so probably not officially

Tony Bennett had a #33 hit in 2003 :P 'A Wonderful World' with k.d. lang.

This could be his first top 10 hit since 1955 ('Stranger In Paradise' is his only other top 10) the way it's climbing though :o Now #16.

Ooh, Coldplay did go top 10 after all :D Hopefully they can climb to #5 as there's not a huge amount in it between 4 and 9 and Tony & Amy will probably overtake.+

Example out of the top 10 :( Although it would have happened when Tony & Amy got there anyway even if Coldplay didn't suddenly start climbing again.

Er...that was an album. Fail chart correction Bray, for shame :drama:

Album, single, same thing. :kink:

Anyway, 'Body And Soul' must be breaking some sort of age-related chart record. Tony Bennett is 85 :o

Will Young  #11 (59p)

Example  #12

Tony & Amy  #16

Leona Lewis (Better in Time) #133 (59p)

Thanks gooddelta, cant believe how long he's been in music :o and all thanks to Amy Winehouse he's got a hit single on his hands, and his Duets album will probably do very well looking at the names on that album!

Coldplay aren't even appearing in the T40 as of Wednesday - so I think T10 come Sunday will be a bit of a push; especially with the only songs pushed out being Example (which is at #5 as of Wednesday).

I reckon Coldplay will debut just inside the T15 and Tony Bennet / Amy Winehouse just inside the T20. With Gaga [Y&I] and Nicki Minaj [sB] at #40 and #39 - it looks likely that Lady Gaga will miss out on the T40 yet again - especially now that Chris Brown and Justin Bieber's 'Next to You' has been reduced to 59p and could well re-enter the T40 by Sunday.

Example #4 today in mids but wouldnt expect it to stay there till Saturday, probably drop to #6?

I am delighted Example's dropped out of the top 10 as it increases The Saturdays chances of climbing to #4 in tomorrow's midweeks. It's good to see Saturdays increase their lead on Olly Murs by 2% after only being 0.1% in the lead last night.

The Zimmers hold the record I believe. Their drummer was 100 when 'My Generation' went top 40 in 2007, and their lead singer was 90. Given that song only got to number 26, he could be the oldest living performer to have a top 20 hit if it charts well.

Ah, The Zimmers. I remember them actually. Did they ever have any more songs or was it a one-off thing?

They released a cover version of "Firestarter" (which is as horrible as it sounds) and an album, but mercifully neither of those charted.

Oh dear. I don't think I'm going to listen to that somehow. (Their version of 'My Generation' was decent enough though)
