Well you're supposing wrong. I also hear Example's influences. But you can't expect everyone to create their own sound each time.

 

And moving the loon inside of me aside, I think this song is excellent. Modern, not 'Radioactive'/'Tenderoni' enough, if you know what I mean (these two just SCREAM mainstream), and not overly complex and uncommercial. Nice place in the middle.

There's a huge difference between not creating a whole new sound each time and sounding like the lowest current common denominator. I want interesting things to hear, something that doesn't sound like everyone else. He managed to be interesting on Flux and One More Chance even though they were dance music because he didn't; go for the current sound. This time he did. Poor show.

What is wrong with wanting to be 'current' though? Each to their own really. I see What Did I Do rather interesting, others may not. It's not even Kele on the vocals which is great and pretty surprising for me tbh.

Even though I love it as well (SHOCK HORROR :heehee: ) I agree with this. One More Chance has GOT to be Bloc Party's least interesting single by far.

SO impressed with What Did I Do! I did quite like Tenderoni, but never enough to go and listen to The Boxer. I'm finding myself excited for the EP just from this! And the clips sound great too!

Easily one of the worst songs I've heard all year. It's a structurally, musically, and lyrically bankrupt song. It doesn't mean anything, go anywhere or exist for any reason other than vanity for what I can ascertain? Throwing together every "on trend" aspect of popular music in 2011 does not a good song make.

 

Kele also has to have one of the most cunty personalities in music.
