January 19, 201213 yr No Shane. In the first half of season 2 he gradually went insane. The rest of the second half is said to see him go even worse. I imagine they'll kick him out of the group. I can't remember whether Shane knows that Rick knows about the affair? Basically I just think the writers (and Kirkman) wants to see Shane last as long as possible. Cos the guy who plays him has done a fantastic job so far, Emmy worthy imo. well he goes insane in the comics just with a very different outcome, which is rather important for Carl's character. I just assumed with the handcuffing of Merle's hand and the fact in Daryl's vision of him this season where Merle says 'they made me chop off my hand' was a bit of an obvious hint it would be him.but I guess they could have changed their plan in order to keep Shane? Do you really think Kirkman wants to see Shane last so long considering what happens in the comics he wrote?

Do you really think Kirkman wants to see Shane last so long considering what happens in the comics he wrote? Yes definitely. When Shane didn't die like he should have done last season just about everyone was pissed off. However, people warmed to the character in the beginning half of last season. He easily had the most character development, He's underpredictable at the moment. Kirkman said in an interview he regrets doing what he did to Shane so early in the comics. I think the fact that he's pretty much the second most important character behind Rick means he'll stay for the foreseeable future. Merle could be him, but I think that's far too obvious. People have been speculating it since he disappeared, and while it is very plausible I'm not sure whether he'll end up being him.
January 24, 201213 yr Author Returns February 12th! New promo can be seen here: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2885591321/ Looks amazing, as ever!
January 25, 201213 yr This next series is definitely going to be all about Shane, whether he dies or becomes the Guvnor.

New promo. http://fxuk.com/shows/the-walking-dead/videos/1417104158001 I don't think that Shane will be the Governor (apparently the producers have started auditions for this character - with two new actors thrown into the frame). Also If an interview with Norman Reedus is to be believed - Merle is not the Governor either. Kath

He's been auditioning for new pilots for next season.
January 30, 201213 yr That's good. Never liked his character. Even at the beginning he seemed a bit off.
January 30, 201213 yr Author NO WAY! Shane CAN'T leave! He's easily the most interesting thing about the show at the moment. Hope he doesn't die and will come back mid-season 3 as they realise the show won't be much without him.

If he does leave (permanently) then they've got to get Daryl back on track as a bit of a badass - as he was mid-first series. From what I've seen and heard - he seems to have turned a bit soft in the first half of series 2. Reedus and Bernthal are both I believe, the highest paid actors in TWD (both being paid twice what the 'lead' actor Andrew Lincoln gets paid - so if Shane does go - then they've got to have some seriously strong story arcs for Daryl. Kath Andrew Lincoln gets the most money for the Walking Dead. He's the first name on the billing, which always means they get the most money. They're introducing several new characters in the first episode back after the break. Renne from True Blood has been cast.
January 30, 201213 yr Andrew Lincoln gets the most money for the Walking Dead. He's the first name on the billing, which always means they get the most money. Not according to this: http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-c...thal-net-worth/ Bernthal and Reedus are on 80,000 per episode whilst Lincoln is on 40,000. Being first on the bill doesn't necessarily equate to the highest salary. Next to Bernthal and Reedus (and their previous output) Andrew Lincoln is all but an unknown in the States. Having said that - it is possible that Laurie Holden gets the same as, if not more, Reedus and Bernthal. Kath
January 31, 201213 yr Another snippet from series 2 second half! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIWkv7W88vU...ture=plpp_video I'm wondering who the character is that Daryl is killing when he says 'Sorry Brother' - I'm hoping its just an expression and it isn't Merle (not yet anyway!) Kath
February 15, 201213 yr I'm unsure where the show is going at the moment. All the characters seem a little lost - although I think the event that happened with Lori will have something to do with it... Good mis-season opener. Broke all sorts of records (again) for cable television!
February 16, 201213 yr 'Olive Oyl'! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1puHr_RrFjw I love Daryl Dixon's one-liners! Kath
February 21, 201213 yr Good episode again this year. The stand-off with the walkers was so tense. Honestly thought they were going to mercifully kill Randall! Shane vs Rick is heading to a showdown, and can only feel that the member of Hershel's family that is in the bed is going to turn in to a walker. Loving T-Dog's one line he uttered all episode.

Loving T-Dog's one line he uttered all episode. I'm manaaging to see the second half of series 2 as my Sis-in-Law has FX. I have to admit I'm in a bit of a quandarry as to what to think of it. I'm disappointed in how they're writing Daryl (although the Olive Oyl comment was class - and the best line of the show). The writers just don't seem to know what to do with him. He's going from being one of the shows favourites to being well - a bit boring. Jon Bernthal is overacting like crazy (but I think the character's development - from an entertainment point of view - and how we're supposed to perceive the character - its necessary). Sadly we all know that two of the main characters go this series - obviously Shane and Dale - shot through the head - as referred to in the 'Sorry Brother' clip by Daryl (it is a mercy killing). According to previously reliable sources - a third character is going to go this second half of series 2. I'm thinking its Beth - although I honestly don't consider her a main character. For me - I'm just hoping that they bring Daryl back on line and make him interesting again. Its a foregone conclusion that Daryl and Carol ARE going to make out (but not before series 3) - so I'm hoping the writers do it well! Kath
February 24, 201213 yr BIG BIG casting news! A certain character has been cast. David Morrison has been cast as The Governor.
February 25, 201213 yr Yeah it's ridiculous haha. Have a feeling Merle will be popping up with The Governor. I'm expecting The Governor to be in one of the last shots of Season 2, would make sense.
