Posted September 20, 201113 yr Seeing as we're about 3/4 of the way through the chart year, using the time honoured tradition of allocating points for positions in the chart, I have compiled the top 50 of the year so far. Points to note 1. I've used only the top 40 positions (i.e. 40 points for a week at number 1, down to 1 point for a week at number 40 2. I've omitted "featured" artists purely for convenience, not to decry their contribution to the music! 1 705 - Adele - Someone Like You 2 662 - LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem 3 621 - Pitbull - Give Me Everything 4 547 - Jessie J - Price Tag 5 531 - Adele - Rolling In The Deep 6 529 - Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor 7 495 - Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar 8 493 - Chris Brown - Beautiful People 9 481 - Snoop Dogg - Sweat 10 476 - Ed Sheeran - The A Team 11 468 - Bruno Mars - Grenade 12 467 - Lady Gaga - Born This Way 13 461 - Rihanna - S & M 14 456 - Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song =15 438 - Alexandra Stan - Mr Saxobeat =15 438 - Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude 17 417 - David Guetta - Who's That Chick? 18 414 - Chris Brown - Yeah 3x 19 396 - David Guetta - Where Them Girls At =20 380 - Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me =20 380 - Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory 22 378 - Nicki Minaj - Super Bass 23 346 - Adele - Set Fire To The Rain 24 336 - Rihanna - What's My Name? 25 335 - Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had 26 318 - Calvin Harris - Bounce 27 304 - Wanted - Glad You Came 28 301 - Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 29 298 - Dr Dre - I Need A Doctor 30 297 - Katy Perry - E.T. 31 294 - Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough 32 293 - DJ Fresh - Louder 33 289 - Martin Solveig - Hello 34 281 - Mann - Buzzin' 35 278 - Chipmunk - Champion 36 269 - Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect =37 262 - Diddy-Dirty Money - Coming Home =37 262 - JLS - Eyes Wide Shut 39 260 - Pink - F*****' Perfect =40 259 - David Guetta - Little Bad Girl =40 259 - Lady Gaga - Judas 42 258 - Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath 43 255 - Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow 44 252 - Nicole Scherzinger - Right There =45 249 - Cee Lo Green - Forget You =45 249 - Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) 47 247 - Katy B - Lights On =48 246 - Rizzle Kicks - Down With The Trumpets =48 246 - Taio Cruz - Higher =50 243 - Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home =50 243 - JLS - She Makes Me Wanna A total of 257 records have amassed at least 1 point in 39 weeks Any amendments/corrections gladly received!
September 20, 201113 yr Oi, that's supposed to be my job stretched out over about 10 months at the start of the year! (Although this list is significantly different to mine anyway due to the more limited 'sample size') I only have 38 weeks for this year - I assume you're basing the boundaries of the year on the week end date? September 20, 201113 yr I've been keeping both the top 100 and the top 40 ones purely out of interest, and I think this is correct. Bré, do you have a different year start date? I have the start of this year as WWC's third week. Because I've got that, this is exactly the same as my top 40 one, and I only have 38 weeks.

That's also where I start the year and One Direction's first week is week 38 of 2011 (same as you). fchd meant to say 38 weeks instead of 39 weeks in that case :P Right, I'm going to post a new result in the points system of 2010 countdown thread RIGHT NOW. Actually doing stuff~

September 20, 201113 yr Thanks Suedehead, anyone else want to update it to top 100 points and COMPLETELY ruin the 'suspense' of my countdown at the beginning of the year or should I just do it myself? Edited September 20, 201113 yr by Bré

September 20, 201113 yr Thanks Suedehead, anyone else want to update it to top 100 points and COMPLETELY ruin the 'suspense' of my countdown at the beginning of the year or should I just do it myself? Didn't you post the list for this year in July anyway? I remember S&M was first at the time iirc (looks like it's got overtaken by a lot since! :o). So this is kind of like the Thursday mid-weeks. :kink:
September 20, 201113 yr Using just the top 100 will give a very different list (as can be seen by the differences in the two lists above). I know, but the top 75 one is far more similar to the top 100 one. Interestingly, the year-to-date #1 (I say that as if it's SECRET, it's pretty obviously Someone Like You) has already surpassed the final points total of 2010's #1 (which is a secret as that countdown is still shamefully going on) and there's still 14 weeks left and it's still top 25 as of last week! Didn't you post the list for this year in July anyway? I remember S&M was first at the time iirc (looks like it's got overtaken by a lot since! :o). So this is kind of like the Thursday mid-weeks. :kink: Yes, I did post the top 40 at the halfway point of the year, but there have been 12 weeks since then and 14 more weeks still to come, the final list will look VERY different to the midpoint one. :P S&M hasn't been overtaken that many times but it'll be overtaken again this week as the song directly behind it is only behind by 6 points and is still in the chart.
