September 28, 201115 yr Yay for Florence, Cobra Starship and Professor Green! And also Pixie Lott staying A-listed! :cheer: Also hurrah for GaGa being dropped. I can't believe they threw her off without keeping her A-list for two months first!
September 28, 201115 yr  at Matt Cardle. Anyway, great to see Ed Sheeran and Kelly Clarkson added. Fly, Crush On You, and Natural Disaster all A-List is very good too, I suspect I'll start hearing those a lot more. :D All, in all, a positive week. Haven't heard the other new entries with the exception of The Wanted (and that was one listen), but I suspect I won't mind them.
September 28, 201115 yr Very good to see they aren't snubbing Kelly, I thought they might :D Nice for The Wanted being added too. Kind of glad that Matt is being kept down, as I'm wanting Stereo Hearts to be #1.
September 28, 201115 yr Nero and Laidback Luke/Example A-List :D Florence + The Machine and Labrinth/Tinie Tempah B-List :D Not particularly interested in any of the new additions although it's always good to see Ed Sheeran on there, a bit late on Don Omar/Lucenzo though, that song is really old! I suppose it's just only getting a UK release now a la I Need A Dollar. (Am I imagining it or was someone complaining about 'Danza Kuduro' being snubbed on R1 not that long ago?) I'm very surprised at them adding Kelly Clarkson, I thought they'd snub her for sure. Also slightly surprising to see they've bothered with Cher Lloyd's second single. And I guess Matt Cardle is just going to stay C-List after all, there's only one more new playlist before its release. I wonder if they'll dump it on release week? I expected R1 to be slightly more supportive of Matt :o Edited September 28, 201115 yr by Bré
September 28, 201115 yr Wait, is an English version of 'Danza Kuduro' being released here or have Radio 1 playlisted the Spanish/Portuguese/whatever version? :o (Also, I wonder why it's credited as 'Lucenzo feat. Don Omar'? It was released everywhere else as 'Don Omar and Lucenzo') Edited September 28, 201115 yr by Bré
September 28, 201115 yr Author I dont care for Danza Kuduro at all. The original portuguese version by Lucenzo is the only decent one, was huge here in mid 2010. There is no english version.
September 28, 201115 yr Good for Kelly, given her past history with this playlist you never know whether they'll support her or not. Edited September 28, 201115 yr by Silver Rocket
September 28, 201115 yr I'm actually quite gobsmacked to see 'Danza Kuduro' being C-listed. Considering it first appeared on UK iTunes about 4 weeks ago albeit at something like #279 I just thought it was one of those songs that had passed the UK without making any impact. With with Sak Noel still A-listed (where most singles tend to be removed from the A-list upon its official release) it's a great time for European dance music. Who'd have thought? :o Still very pleasing to see Lana Del Rey B-listed. Out of interest, has the music video started to get any airplay on the music channels?
September 28, 201115 yr Author Well that's exaggerating a lot. "Loca People" (imo its crap) is a big hit, but what else is out there that makes this such a great period for the genre? The few dance hits around all sound the same. Also Loca People was just released this week and its #1 in the mids, they would never kick it off already.
September 28, 201115 yr NEVER got the love for Danza Kuduro... It's alright but quite how it's managed to be such a huge European hit is beyond me! Anyway, :cheer: for Kelly, fingers crossed Mr Know It All is a big hit for her

Loca People was hardly going to be removed from the A-list during its release week when it's predicted to hit #1.
September 28, 201115 yr Blimey how on earth does Cher Lloyd get playlisted. Its just beyond me! I also thought Radio 1 would support Matt more however I don't mind as I'm no fan of him or his personality. Edited September 28, 201115 yr by torresgirl
September 28, 201115 yr I'm so glad they playlisted Kelly! I hope she ventures over here to do promo for this single..
September 28, 201115 yr Blimey how on earth does Cher Lloyd get playlisted. Its just beyond me! Well Swagger Jagger went #1 and this will probably be a bigger hit..

I agree that they all sound the same, but I think he just meant it's a "good time" for them as in they're seeing success atm compared to the past couple of years. There's also the fact that now there's American artists doing those songs aswell.
September 28, 201115 yr Author I dont think european dance is having more success this year than in previous years. Just a few big hits, that's it, pretty much the norm.
