1. Leanne Mitchell - Not ever been a massive fan of Leanne but she was brilliant tonight, she has improved so much. - 10/10

2. Becky Hill - Loved seeing a softer side of her voice tonight and her tone is gorgeous. Glad she pulled it off tonight. - 9/10

3. Vince Kidd - He has been picking the wrong songs so far in the competition and finally here he managed to get it right. I don't want either of him or Becky to go to be honest. - 8/10

4. Max Milner - Really raised his game from last week I thought, I really didn't get the judges critism. It was nice to hear him sing something more emotional as well. - 8/10

5. Bo Bruce - I am more of a fan of Bo that Max and I still want her through but the song was poor for a semi-final, she sung it well but not her best at all. - 7/10

6. Ruth Brown - I am still not sure what I made of it, some parts like the beginning was beautiful but she again went over the top with the power near the end. - 6/10

7. Jaz Ellington - I am not a Jaz hater like most on here but this was poor by his standards with a few bum notes. Still enjoyed it though. - 6/10

8. Tyler James - No Tyler, everything was going so well for you and I was really routing for you but then you did THIS. Awful. - 2/10

Apart from Tyler, I was rather impressed with the standard tonight. Hoping that Leanne, Bo, Jaz get through, even though I am only a new fan of Leanne, and I suppose I would have to say Becky as well even though I would be upset to see Vince go on his best performance so far, but its slightly better than the alternative.

Ranking:

Great

01 Bo Bruce - Charlie Brown

02 Leanne Mitchell - Run To You

03 Ruth Brown - The Voice Within

Good

04 Max Milner - Every Breath You Take

05 Vince Kidd - Back To Black

06 Becky Hill - Like A Star

Awful/Blasphemy/Shit

07 Jaz Ellington - Let It Be

08 Tyler James - Bohemian Rhapsody

Meh tonight, Cheryl would actually be abve Jaz which is saying something

Usually I'm rooting for Ruth/Tyler but for me tonight Bo stole the show. Shame only one act from each team can make it through. I really couldn't care less about Vince or Becky in Team Jessie. :(

01. Bo Bruce - "Charlie Brown" <--- really did sound fantastic hearing this performed by a female vocalist. Excellent stage set too.

02. Ruth Brown - "The Voice Within" <--- I still have a soft spot for Ruth, and at least it was toned down and she managed to stay in time with the band.

03. Leanne Mitchell - "Run to You" <--- So Team Tom was the strongest for me tonight occupying places inside my top 3. Thought Leanne did a decent version.

04. Tyler James - "Bohemian Rhapsody" <--- I had visions of G4 from 2004. Not good, but Tyler oozes cool and he made it bearable.

05. Vince Kidd - "Back to Black" <--- Easily the better of Jessie's final two. Good version but still something about Vince irritates me.

06. Jaz Ellington - "Let it Be" <--- Really thought Jaz would have taken the pimp spot but he the "choir" so I'm sure Jaz is in the final. Pfft!!! (well, I think Jaz is good but Tyler... :( )

07. Max Milner - "Every Breath You Take" <--- Very ordinary performance, sounded like it could've easily been The Police performing. In terms of Team Danny, Bo stole Max's thunder tonight.

08. Becky Hill - "Like a Star" <--- Not a fan of the original which is MoR at it's most MoR, and Becky is a bundle of enthusiasm. Something the song choice isn't. Clearly Jessie wants Vince in the final hence this piss poor song choice.

My rank based on the performances of last night:

1. Vince [Team Jessie] - It seems his overall image/dress-sense/personality/speaking-voice irritates many people. Personally I'm not bothered by his quirks, he seems nice enough to me. I just really love his singing voice!

2. Leanne [Team Tom] - I've done a 180 on this girl! Wonderful performance... tuneful, rather than shouting it out (still a bit :drama: at her murdering 'Who Knew'!)

3. Bo [Team Danny] - I don't think she's as unique as the judges make her out to be, but there is definitely a quality to her voice which I like - it's pleasant.

4. Max [Team Danny] - The first time I've liked him actually. I agree that it was a safe choice, but it was nicely done.

5. Tyler [Team will.i.am] - Bizarre song choice, which I didn't particularly enjoy at all. However, on a technical level - credit where credit is due for how he handled it vocally.

6. Becky [Team Jessie] - Pretty poor choice of song at this stage in the competition. This was Becky at 50% capacity.

7. Ruth [Team Tom] - :( I've lost all of my initial enthusiasm for Ruth. She started off so well in this competition, but has descended into madness with her uncontrolled, shouty vocals. Shame.

8. Jaz [Team will.i.am] - He's just not for me.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a Vince, Leanne, Bo & Tyler final, therefore. Jaz must not win this! :drama:

More importantly though - KYLIE. http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/disco.gif

Genuine massive shock there, can't believe both Jaz and Ruth are gone! Bloody hell... So glad to see the back of Jaz though, and I love all the final 4 (even if Tyler was even worse than Jaz last night), Bo has this in the bag though surely?

I must admit Bo has been consistant for the past few weeks, surely its between Tyler and Bo now, with Bo to win

Appartently the ratings went down to 4.5 million last night, which is just dreadful but kind of expected seeing as it was on so early and it was still boiling at half 6. It did rise from a 28% audience share to a 29% share, however it is still awful for a semi-final and with viewers watching as a warm-up to Eurovision.

Cheryl was absolutely amazing! I couldn't care less if not everything was live, her performance was just incredible.

01. Tyler James

02. Bo Bruce

03. Vince Kidd

04. Max Milner

05. Jaz Ellington

06. Leanne Mitchell

07. Becky Hill

08. Ruth Brown

I have to say that Jaz and Leanne really surprised me, never been a big fan of both of them but I really enjoyed their performances.

Given the glorious weather the poor ratings for last night are not a great surprise. The programme starts too early to get good ratings at this time of year.

As the BBC don't own the format there will be limits on what they can change. However, they can choose when to show the programme. Perhaps they should consider a midweek slot rather than Saturday which would avoid any clash with BGT. Alternatively they could start it earlier on the year, e.g. late January. Either way, a live show from 7.30 - 9 with the results show at 9.30 would surely be a better idea.

The only day midweek they could start at 7.30 would be Wednesdays though... EastEnders airs 7.30-8 or 8-8.30 and the only thing that gets shunted for is a charity telethon or a big sporting event. Mondays 8.30-10.00 with the results after the news at 10.30 might not be the worst idea in the world.

In all truth I don't think the time slot is the problem. It's how DRY the show feels. There's very little humour, the judges all seem to lack personality (with the possible exception of Tom) now we've got to the live stages, the performances and staging lack any atmosphere whatsoever. It needs a complete revamp. New judges, new producers behind the scenes. I still say C4 should've got the show over the BBC, whose track record with talent contests like this is not exactly a hot one.

There's just a lack of any excitement in my opinion. I'm just not overly bothered as to who wins, what happens next or anything. The winner of this won't last long and may even do an Alex Parks and not have their winning single go to #01.

The winner might not even have a winners single full stop.

I'm pretty sure there is a winner's single, I've seen that they have a song written by Laura White in mind - further solidfying their independence from X-Factor ;)
I still think it's fairly wide open who could win. Hoping for a Tyler victory, I'd give myself the biggest pat on the back ever if that happened. And I'd also be just a little bit richer.
