May 27, 201213 yr Brilliant results! The only one that I would've liked different was Becky in over Vince, but I don't think he's going to win anything so that's fine. I'm glad they saved the two biggest shocks until last as well, along with the two most overrated/over-hyped/sickening artists Ruth and Jaz leaving :D Prediction: 01. Bo 02. Tyler 03. Leanne/Vince 04. Leanne/Vince I'd like Leanne to finish within the top two though; she gave a beautiful performance last night.
May 27, 201213 yr Happy that the exact four I wanted to go through to the finals, have indeed done so! ^_^
May 27, 201213 yr I think a lot of it will depend on who got the pimp slot. I mean who would have thought that Jaz and Ruth went? Obviously the erratic viewing figures must be having some major impact as there is normally often stability with these things. Jaz and Ruth both seemed clear cut favourites by the producers, media and public and for them to go is a bit of a shock. I think all the finalists bar Leanne could have some sort of career in the music industry, and as it's already been mentioned I think Tyler is the most marketable by some distance. I think Bo has got to be favourite to win, but I really do believe any four of them could win.
May 28, 201213 yr I think Bo will win this but Tyler may get a deal somewhere aswell and resuurect his carrer. Im not overly sure though if anything big is gona come out of the Voice as interest is just dwindling by the week. In a strange way the Voice has shown us just how successful the X Factor really is as a tv show as it has continued to keep extremely healthy ratings. I dont understand in some senses how the voice has managed to lose about 6 million viewers.
May 28, 201213 yr I don't like any of the last 4. If I had to pick one it would have to be Leanne. My fave got the boot last night (Becky)

I dont understand in some senses how the voice has managed to lose about 6 million viewers. They managed to losse all those viewers because none of the acts had any standout talent. I think the battles round was just a mess. I switched off half way through. The only one I liked in the last 8 was Becky. Apart from the blind auditions which are great - the rest of the show is not a patch on X-Factor/American Idol. Will.I.Am & Danny are rubbish coaches. Will.I.Am can't even string a sentence together. Also I think the BBC were trying to do it on the cheap to save money & it hasn't worked. Edited May 28, 201213 yr by euro music
May 28, 201213 yr Out of interest, how successful is The Voice in other countries? I know in some countries they're already onto their third series. It just makes me wonder because if the format is working in other countries, then why has it failed so badly in the UK? Is it a lack of established coaches? For eg; my parents have watched it a couple of times, but they complain about how the singers insist on doing the whole "Aguilera treatment" of screaming the song instead of singing the song (my dad liked Aleks  ). Also, they only recognise Sir Tom Jones and bizarrely by mum seems to know who Jessie J is, but they haven't a clue who "the two other men are". If this is a general opinion of the viewing public, then maybe they need to ditch Will.I.Am and Danny and replace them with two more established (to the core audience which isn't just teenagers) coaches and ensure the contestants don't destroy the songs they are singing. Just a thought. :D
May 28, 201213 yr Hmmm, I think it's safe to say that next series will be the last chance for this show (if it gets one that is!) I think the show's failure definitley lies in the live round stages. The auditions/battles got more than double what this weekends shows got. Whether it's due to the talent (or lack there of in some cases!), the format (in that after the battle rounds it basically becomes an X-Factor clone), or the Judges I'm not sure.
May 28, 201213 yr Hmmm, I think it's safe to say that next series will be the last chance for this show (if it gets one that is!) They're already taking applications for the second series, so yes I think it will be.
May 28, 201213 yr I actually think the main issue is that the series focuses more on talent and less on the overall package (which is a good thing), but then insists on its contestants singing cover versions. I think the number of contestants in each group was too much and it would have fared better if there were less contestants and more time for the artists to create their own songs whilst having the occasional cover. i know fame academy belly flopped however.....
May 28, 201213 yr That reminds me of something, not that I really care about anyone left in the competition (though I wouldn't kick Tyler out of bed ) but do they have winner's singles ready to go, or will they just release on iTunes whatever cover they do on the final show? If they don't have any product within a week or so of winning then they could be consigned to the dumper before their career has even started (restarted in Tyler's case).
May 28, 201213 yr Well, if Tyler wins I hope 'Why Do I Do?' is his "winners single" as it's already on iTunes to buy and there's a music video. It might seem like a cop out but it's better than nothing. :P
May 28, 201213 yr Surely 'Foolish' would be a better choice as it was his one and only top 20 single 'Foolish' either. Both are great singles, so why not re-release both as his next two singles? :D Just as long as it's not his cover of 'Your Woman' that gets pushed. That'll end his career just like it did first time round.
May 28, 201213 yr I'd rather him release new stuff, than start of his new career with old material. :P
May 28, 201213 yr I'd rather him release new stuff, than start of his new career with old material. :P Whilst I'd agree with this comment, it's not like Tyler's first two singles were massive hits. When 'Foolish' got to #16 it probably sold 600 copies to get there. At least the exposure from The Voice will mean it could sell at least 6,000 copies instead. :P
May 28, 201213 yr For me the battle rounds killed the show, they were far too screechy. I don't think the judges are a problem necessarily, just that they all need to have more than one stock reaction to a performance.

He probably would prefer to start his career as a fresh artist.

Hence why my dad said he liked Aleks because he didn't shout when he sang. Oh well, that's my dad's opinion. If I want to listen to Aleks, I'll download some Michael Buble. :P

He probably would prefer to start his career as a fresh artist. The main problem with X Factor is that Simon Cowell pulls all the strongs. The Cowell has done to Gary Barlow what he did to Piers Morgan - somehow making them untouchable forces in the entertainment industry to the point they believe their own hype. I guess it's amazing what money achieves. :heehee: I'm sure if Matt Cardle could start again, he'd decline 'Run For Your Life' and release one of his Seven Summers tracks as his winners single, but Cowell would've made less money from it (unless he bought the rights to all of Seven Summers material) so naturally the Cowell didn't like anything on Seven Summers' album. It's not down to taste, but more £££ *.* £££. Gary (Cowell Pt II) Barlow steps in as a judge and is given the task of writing the winners single. Wouldn't surprise me if Gary wrote 'Run For Your Life' for his debut solo album but it wasn't good enough at the time.
