A new posthumous Michael Jackson album will hit shelves next month on November 21.

Immortal will be released to coincide with the related Cirque Du Soleil show ‘Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour’, which launched in Montreal this week.

The compilation will be available as a deluxe double disc version and a single disc. It will feature a collection of Jackson’s original tracks that have been ‘redesigned’ and ‘reimagined’ by musical designer Kevin Arntunes.

These redesigns will include mashups, newly discovered outtakes and a choir that Jackson recorded for the song They Don’t Really Care About Us.

Immortal is Jackson's second posthumous album, following last year's Michael, and harks back to the succesful Beatles' Cirque collaboration - and remix CD - Love.

Antunes said: “Michael's legacy as the greatest entertainer of our lifetime is inspiring beyond words. From the studio to the stage, there's an undeniable integrity and resolute truth in Michael's vocal performances that are highlighted in the Immortal arrangements. It was built with love and respect for Michael's music, his family, and his millions of fans around the world.”

Haven't they milked this enough?

Sorry but let the man rest in peace. Let's remember him for the songs we know and love him for.

They've only just started the milking. There's still lots of money to be made out of MJ. I thought they'd release another album of previously unreleased material but maybe they've decided against that now after how poorly 'Michael' was received.

I actually really loved the "Michael" album - especially songs like "Behind the mask", "Best of Joy", and "I like the way you love me". The album was poorly promoted. Many people had no idea about the album. Poor reception for mega stars like Michael Jackson usually stem from poor promotion. Albums that are badly promoted are typically dead on arrival.

I'm thinking, from the name Immortal, that they've simply updated the feel of the tracks to make them sound more modern. That's all I can think of. Once this is out, I'll have to take a quick listen to see, out of interest.

I've never been a huge fan of MJ, but I think that's enough. I would be quite happy with Hold Your Hand and Michael being the last we see of him in both charts. And this stuff isn't even unreleased material, where there is an argument for putting them out there.
