I had a bit of a Catatonia revival recently! One of those bands that my Dad got me into as a kid and I'm still a little bit in love.

I'm wondering where sales of 300,000 would get you in this chart?

32. LUCKY MAN- The Verve (186,300)

The first of 3 Verve singles on this list (I know the suspense will kill you as to what the other ones are :D ) "Lucky Man" was the third and final release from "Urban Hymns", and a Christmas release ensured a healthy sale. For a band that called it a day in 95 they must be thankful that they chose to reunite seeing as it proved so lucrative for them.

31. THE UNIVERSAL- Blur (188,900)

Now of course it's the British Gas advert music, but back in 1995 this was a second track from "The Great Escape". 1995 was the year that the Blur Vs Oasis rivalry was as its most ludicrous, with spats in the NME, and various others insults flying between the two camps, what is often overlooked however is just how "Universal" is- from its "Clockwork Orange" themed video to those glorious strings.

30. GOOD ENOUGH- Dodgy (189,500)

It's their only single to clear the 100k mark and was released in the same week as Suede's "Trash" but ends up comfortably outselling that track. One of the better feel good tracks for the summer.

Good Enough and Staying Out For The Summer are two fantastic feelgood songs from Dodgy

The Universal is one of Blur's finer moments too.

I absolutely love 10 out of 11 of the tunes so far.

Never did like Reef that much.

The Universal is my absolute favourite Blur song and I wanted it to be #1 for weeks.

And I don't care what anyone says, I loved The Verve around the time of Urban Hymns.

Same for me!

Who can diss The Verve for Urban Hymns?!

I don't mind them from that period though "History" and "On Your Own" remain my favourites, in fact the former should have been as big as BSS in my opinion.

I sooooo agree with this. At one point, I had two Verve songs in my all time top 10 with BSS at #1 (it still is - I absolutely adore that song) and History a bit further down.

Loving these thus far;

Good Enough is so feel good, adore it. The Universal is one of my favourite Blur songs, very classy example of Britpop.

29. BEETLEBUM- Blur (196,900)

The second Blur No 1 single also clocks in as their second biggest seller and the second song on this rundown. Famous of course for it's very swift descent down the charts 1-7-29-42-68-OUT and for the time when they said they were BRIT POP no more! Despite that I still put in this chart- they are after all one of the leading groups in the genre...

The Universal is one of my favourite songs ever, if not my favourite outright

Fantastic countdown gezza!

28. HUSH- Kula Shaker (201,000)

Our second and final appearance from Kula Shaker comes in the form of 1997's "Hush" which debuted at No 2 after losing a midweek No 1 position to No Doubt. It marked the end of teh line for the group in commercial terms and a return in 1999 proved to be largely a flop with the split following soon after.
