Terrible Love is originally by The National, so only Without A Word is original, and the demo of that is on YT. She better do a good job of Young Blood, love that track!

You know Shelter was quite nice. I think I might give her album a chance.
Oh dear, she's gone and murdered 'White Winter Hymnal' and 'Young Blood'? :( (I think the latter is overrated anyway but there's still no need for Birdy to be putting her dirty hands all over it :kink:)

I'm starting to get annoyed by her - Skinny Love was very nice, but her constant covers are getting annoying - especially with such an under appreciated song like WWH :(

Incredibly boring update, 'Lego House' is the only song making any significant movement. Good to see Promises and Stay Awake back, I thought at least the former would be gone forever. Seems to finally be stabilising, shame it's around the bottom end of the top 100.

In regards to Birdy - she always said she intended her first album to consist of covers. As a young musician, she noted the importance of writing her own music - but that it takes time. Basically, to ensure she wasn't forgotten after 'Skinny Love', she decided to release 'Shelter', 'People Help the People' and an album of covers until she's ready to release original music - nothing wrong with that. It's sort of like Glee.
I don't really care what Birdy does. I don't listen to her music, so she can do what she wants as far as I'm concerned. She can cover all my favourite songs (although judging by the sorts of songs she's covered before, I somehow DOUBT that will happen ) and I won't care tbh.
I don't mind the fact Birdy does covers, I don't know most of the songs anyway I am afraid to admit, so mabye its a good thing that she is getting these reasonably unknown songs out there, and she has a gorgeous voice to do it with. Its not that big a thing that they are nearly all covers, Joss Stone's first album 'Soul Sessions' were nearly all covers anyway? Its hardly like shes the only one to do it.

I agree really, of the ones on the album I know 1901 (Phoenix), Skinny Love (Bon Iver), White Winter Hymnal (Fleet Foxes), Young Blood (Naked & The Famous) and Shelter (The xx) - and they're all pretty obscure tbh. It's Ronan Parke who should be shot for his covers, all perfectly well known (The Edge of Glory, Firework, Make You Feel My Love, A Thousand Miles, Fix You and more all RUINED) and he doesn't boast a gorgeous voice like Birdy...

With covers i dont really care, if i really dont like the cover i just dont listen to it? Really not bothered, cover what ever song you want, if i like it i'll listen, if i dont like it i wont, simples.

Countdown  #36

Who You Are #70

Bruno Mars - Lazy Song #73 - Just The Way You Are #92 - Marry You #24

Will all climb after Sunday night (X Factor)

Is he performing Marry You or It Will Rain (not out till 31st Oct though) does anyone know? Maybe a medley?

Just seen the video to 'Lego House' for the first time - another clever and thought provoking video. I also think the track itself is brilliant, so much better than 'You Need Me...' so I hope this can be a proper big hit following the massive success of 'The A Team'.
I'd hoped that Bruno would perform 'Marry You' - it's a shame it missed out on the T10 - it's probably one of his better songs; although lacking any thoughtful lyrics. However, promoting 'It Will Rain' would be the best bet for him on Sunday - although a mash-up would do me fine.

It's a week too early to perform It Will Rain, I think he may do a mash-up of his hits. Or maybe just a mash-up of Marry You and It Will Rain.

Kelly a week late, Bruno a week early - maybe they just wanted them to be on the same show

Mabye they wanted them to do a mash up of 'Just The Way You Are' and 'Mr. Know It All' together :kink:

'Marry You' needs to go away already

Yes. The song has been around for soooooooo long. A bit ridiculous really. If he's going to perform a song from his previous album, I think he should do Count On Me.

I'm starting to get annoyed by her - Skinny Love was very nice, but her constant covers are getting annoying - especially with such an under appreciated song like WWH :(

I will definitely buy Birdy's album - and as for the covers, well I've never heard the originals of any of them so far, so that's not an issue for me.

Maroon 5 & Christina back up to #3 - they're not going down without a hell of a fight! :P

Wouldnt say previous album, as its still his current album? X Factor will have a huge impact for Bruno.

Watch out on Monday for Coldplay/Rihanna collab, cert for top 40 i'd say.
