Queen Baranski's first Interview

 

In her first taped interview since being elected Queen of Vojvodina, Queen Baranski had a LOT to say about her predecessor and much much more. To be serialised in the Daily Voj over the next 3 weeks.

 

When asked what she thought of the Vojvodinian prospects in the upcoming year of contests, including the possibility of the first Vojvodinian DNQ, she had the following to say:

Interviwer: ''What was it like working the undisputed greatest actress of all time, Meryl Streep, and how did your subsequent campaigns to be Queen impact upon your relationship?''

Queen Baranski: Working with Meryl was a dream, as you know I myself am a hugely respected and Oscaar winning actress, so it felt right for me to star opposite someone of equal TALANT as myself. In fact, Meryl repeatedly asked me for notes on how to pitch certain aspects of her character, I really feel like it was me that crafted not only my role into what it became, but also hers. Thankfully we have such a tight bond that our announcement to run for Queen caused few, if any, ructions between us. However, during the debate stage, it became perfectly clear to me that dear old Meryl was simply not capable of fulfilling the role so I had to metaphorically TAKE THE BITCH DOWN. The voters seemed to agree with me and now she lies disgraced in a puddle of her own urine in the OAP home, or so I hear.

 

Interviwer: ''Moving on, you met Queen Nic on numerous ocassions in your role as Regional Governor, how does it feel to succeed her as Queen. She left quite the mark on Vojvodina during her 3 year tenure''

Queen Baranski: I always felt that Queen Nic was the right leader for the right time. After coming out of the dark dark times of the 78 year war the country was left BEREFT, emotionally, physically and financially. What we needed was a carefree spirit to guide us back to the light and Nicole was that light. With her winning combination of charm, talent and all conquering pop behemoths she not only conquered our social issues, but also the pop charts. She's taking some time out to move into movie making now, something a superstar like myself can understand all to well. However, I am capable of juggling my televisual and State duties, so the people need not fear on either front.

Interviewer: ''Your The Good Wife co-star Julianna Margulies has had, how to put it, some rather unsightly botox of recent times wouldn't you say?''

Queen Baranski: We don't talk about it. Julianna appeared on set around a year ago having just been for her first session and looked radiant, so she continued seeing her specialist. Unfortunately she has now reached the point where she is only capable of moving 5 muscles in her face. It really is quite the shame, she can no longer consume solid food due to the loss of muscle control and instead has to be fed intravenously for at least 6 months. Doctors say that if she stops at once she should regain full control within 1 year, 2 at the outside. Like I say, we don't talk about it.

Vojvodina qualifies for a 9th consecutive final

Vojvodina has qualified for its 9th consecutive final with the #1 single 'Human Behaviour' by Le Kid. Th original choice of the Vojvodinian public decided they had a better chance representing Syndare so Le Kid glady stepped in and took over SoSo's mantle (with the help of a little monetary persuasion). Expectations are high for a good result in the final.

Despite making the final of BJSC41 Le Kid finished in a dismal 29th place, a new low for Vojvodina, with a mere 34 points. Queen Baranski has issued a shoot on sight order against SoSo.

Queen Baranski, and the entire Vojvodinian BJSC pre-selection committee, have decided to reinstate 'A Song for Vojvodina'. The highly successful show ran for 6 years and combined jury votes with televotes to decide the Vojvodinian entry. It fell out of favour and was replaced with a more simplistic 'Queens Choice' which has proven to be somewhat disastrous so in an effort to turn around its flagging fortunes the committee has agreed to invite International juries, combined with the internal juries and televotes, to decide the next Vojvodinian entry. Danish Indie-pop Darkness Falls duo have been handed the reigns for the 43rd Buzzjack Song Contest with their soon to be smash hit The Void, taking over the mantle from Frida Hyvonen. This months national final was one of the toughest yet, however all 3 runners up all managed to snare themselves a place with other countries, time will tell if Vojvodina made the right choice or not. Queen Baranski, currently out of the country filming Season 4 of The Good Wife, has tweeted her love and best wishes to the duo.

Following on from last months NATIONAL DISASTER Queen Baranski and the internal selection committee have reached out to Icelandic duo Kura to represent the Vojvodinian interests in BJSC XLIV. We wish them all the best of luck because failure is NOT AN OPTION.

FYR Vojvodina-on-the-Wold is REBORN

The nation formerly known as FYR Vojvodina-on-the-Wold is no more, in its place is birthed the nation of Altyr Muunilinst [pronounced All-tare Mew-knee-lin-st]. The new name will take effect from the 46th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest. In the meantime and for the duration of the 45th contest, the country shall remain known by it's original name.

 

This change has come about due to a regime change within Altyr Muunilinst - the monarchy is no more and has been replaced with a senate, headed up by the new Supreme Chancellor Baranski.

Kopečka have yet to decide if they will be declaring war on Altyr Muunilinst in continuation of their hostile relations with FYR Vojvodina-on-the-Wold or not (having been fans of 'Queen' 'Nic'), but are currently leaning towards abject apathy.
