Ha, oh Bre. I fear the world may IMPLODE if we both enjoy one anothers entries.

(Oh and I have no shame in recycling artists, heck I've even recycled from MYSELF)

Well it already happened in BJSC L and I don't think the world has imploded yet. (Although The Saturdays did reach #1 on the UK singles chart this year so MAYBE IT DID)

Ummm i tried to send said artist 5 MONTHS ago actually so calm them tits.

(it was a completely different song but it still counts OK x)

Oh well fair play then, I guess I really was rather late to the table after all.

(I still hope you flop, obv)

This is true, perhaps we really aren't that important in the grand scheme of things?

Nah, there must just have been a glitch with the implosion programme. You just cannot get the staff these days.

Arlissa for LVIII

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/85461615/Arlissa%20PHOTOGRAPHY%20HANNA%20HIL.png

Following her debut single Sticks & Stones, which reached the top 10 on the national chart, up and coming singer songwriter Arlissa will this month be representing Altyr in Syndare. It was a confusing month, both for the AMSM and for the host nation as Arlissa was only settled upon after a lengthy process and several aborted attempts at confirmation. The song in question is a haunting reworking of a former UK #1 single by the singer Olive. Reinventing the song as a beautiful ballad hopefully it will be a discovery for many and also win over those avid fans of the original as well.

Arlissa makes the final

http://www.mobo.com/sites/default/files/arlissa123.jpg

After a series of high odds and blanket predictions to make the final Arlissa did just that at the revealing of the semi final results last night in Syndare. Odds are once again predicting good things in the final and perhaps even a personal best is on the cards for Altyr.

Meanwhile after last months confirmation catastrophe Supreme Chancellor Baranski has ordered the AMSC to have at least three options on the table prior to the conclusion of the 58th edition of the contest.

Laleh Sails Through to 7th Consecutive Final for Altyr

72e9bde9c5b057edf7cdaea2ebbea2eb.jpeg

Last night Laleh advanced from the semi stage of the competition, marking Altyr's 7th consecutive final appearance, our longest continuous stretch since our debut no less! After Arlissa's 5th place last month expectations are higher than usual for Laleh to achieve our first back to back top 10 in the final since the Florrie-Charlotte Qvale-The Storm trio of last summer.

I got tonnes of bullets, but no gun

As we enter the final contest of what has been a very successful year for Altyr, the AMSC has once again turned to Sweden to source it's entry. The 60th contest will see the debut of up and coming singer songwriter Naomi Pilgrim, with her #1 single No Gun. A quirky left field pop smash, the song has already topped the national chart for 2 weeks and is already picking up great odds from the like of the ever reliable Rontbet.

There's Something About You

Following an unprecedented run of form, including not only our debut win, but also a follow-up just 2 months later and a record breaking FOUR consecutive top 10 hits Altyr are sending Hayden James to LXIII. A song which has been riding high in the national chart for several months, it has finally made the cut and is our official entry this month. Needless to say expectations are high, no doubt too high and many officials among the newly reformed ASSC are unsure of its prospects at all.

It's not time to get it started, it's time to Call It Off

http://cdn4.pitchfork.com/news/58931/9732e515.png

After a disastrous result last month, the only way is up (we did come LAST) this month and as such the ASSC has reached out to Shamir and his electro-pop number, Call It Off. The video even has PUPPET PEOPLE. The nation is cautiously optimistic this month, as his previous single 'On The Regular' was quite the international smash.

Bold move sending a song with nearly as many dislikes as likes on YouTube and choix top comments 'this song is terrible' and 'this gave me cancer'.

I like it though. Especially the puppets. And Hayden James did NOT deserve to come last. Persephonia supporting you in these times of need ~

Nothing's gonna trouble my heart, now that we have grown apart

After a difficult selection process, the ASSC have decided to reach to Danish Kasper Bjørke to act as our representative for BJSC LXXV. He's brought along an old hand at BJSC too in the form of featured vocalist Sisy Ey. It's an emotional dance track, with sublime production and soaring vocals from Ms. Ey. It's been gathering positive responses form various Ambassador's in Darpabrak who have been contacted for assistance, so hopes are high as ever for a successful month.

Apart makes the final

In a BRIBERY FREE result, Altyr have once again made it to the final of the Buzzjack Song Contest, further lessening the shocking blow of our dismal result two contests back. The country currently has little in the way of expectations for the song, not least because of mass protests against the Chancellor after controversial anti-poverty laws were brought into effect yesterday.

We should end before it hurts

http://www.scandipop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/AwaObvious-e1431341440899.jpg

Coming off our 11th place finish last month, just a few points shy of returning to the top 10 for the first since the contest was held in Darpabrak back in February the ASSC have reached out to Swedish X Factor winner Awa. Taking a more pop leaning approach after a few months dabbling with other genre's, expectations are high for Obvious.

Awa makes it 3 in a row

Last nights results of the first semi final of the 76th BJSC saw Awa qualify for Altyr Muunilinst and extend the nations run of finals back to 3. Reception in general seems to be rather muted for Obvious, so the final is unlikely to be a banner event for the nation.

Other national favourites swept through to the final as well, including 2 potential Altyr entries in She Talks Too Much and Deadwater, so it will be interesting to see if the ASSC backed the right horse (and vital for their continued survival).
