'Persian' and 'Balkan' are pretty much different.

It's much closer then Nordic and Balkan...

Anyway, it seems like it's this kind of genre the Eastern European countries fancy ^_^

What do you mean? Are they changing any of the elements in the song for the semi final?

All of the vocals in the ESC need to be sung live. So it will sound different come the semi final.

We thought the same in 2005 with Touch My Fire, that went well

Seriously though, Tooji should smash - but then I thought Haba Haba would too, things are ridiculously unpredictable now, moreso since the juries returned.

Indeed, compare the MF and ESC performances of Malena Ernman's La Voix, probably the most extreme example I can think of, it lacked so much of the impact it originally had with the softer live backing vocal harmonies. Although how complex are Stay's backing vocals? I've never paid that much attention to them...

Stay is covered in backing vocals. If they can replicate them live it's gonna fly into the top10 in the final. If they can't the song is good enough to make the final, but I doubt it'd do as well.

It's very comparable to Popular. The ESC version lacked a little of the sparkle that the MF version had because the live backing vocals weren't that hot.

That and Germany were seemingly incapable of handing the staging that SVT had put on in Melodifestivalen. Only one glass pane breaking was a lot less impressive than all of them in MF, and even then that was pot luck, it didn't smash in most of the rehearsals
