I doubt she will be promoting anything in the UK until mid late march when MDNA is coming out.

I'm not too fussed about this song it just seems like a promo song for the superbowl a tad like Hey You & Live Earth for me.

I'm not sure if this would be a good thing to do or not, but I'd not mind if she just sent Girls Gone Wild to radio in the UK as a held back single to be released the week before MDNA, and leave GMAYL as a 'buzz single'. Beyonce did similar and did well, I think with time to build GGW would do much better. Of course GMAYL may pick up in the next 2/3 weeks, but I'm not sure.
Even if she turns this into a 'buzz single' (ie. cover up for a flop, same as Beyonce), it's just a further blemish on her chart record. To think just 3 years ago it was 'always top 20', then 'always top 40' and now 'always top 200'.

Blah, she's achieved so much that I don't really care how the singles perform now. All I ask is that the albums continue to do okay.

This is true. Even if she does give it 'buzz single' treatment, it's performed only slightly better than Miles Away - an unpromoted third single :/

Yeah I suppose. Britney, Kylie and others have seen diminishing success overall, but as with Kylie I know Madonna can fall back on the album sales.

That is one way to look at it, but it really needn't have been this way. Miles Away, or indeed any 3rd single from Hard Candy, didn't need a release. Revolver should never have HAPPENED, let alone been a single and now GMAYL with zero promo/radio support/anything.
dont worry people if radio decides to add the track it will climb, also remember thousands of sales were lost with those that pre ordered the album!
It's #40 on the airplay chart with AI of 18 million, so its slightly more worrying that its performing so poorly.
The download era was always going to f**k up her great singles chart runs. As with some other artists.
Madonna is never going to be a massive downloads artist i fear. MDNA should do great on physicals and lets hope we get a GMAYL physical with remixes as well

Heres the email to Radio1 should anybody be interested to do the same:

Hi Radio 1,

As a Radio 1 listener for many years I have to mail you. I see that you haven't added Madonna's new track to Radio 1's playlist. I hope that this will change and that you will add it. I speak on behalf of many Madonna fans. I've always enjoyed listening to the variety of music played by Radio 1 and would like you to consider playing "Gimme Me All Your Luvin". It's worthy, as its on par with many songs in the current UK top 40. Please support Madonna and continue to play a variety artists of a wide age range on Radio 1. Many fans would like to hear Madonna on Radio 1, they to are of a variety of ages, young to mature. Hope to hear Madonna on Radio 1 and from you soon regarding this, of which I will share with Madonna forums.

ALSO DETAILS OF PHYSICAL SINGLE RELEASE DATE:

'GMAYL' 2 Track Single, release date and updates!

MadonnaTribe has an exclusive update about the upcoming CD single for Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'", including some fresh info straight from Universal Music.

The release date.

As reported first on this news page yesterday, online retailers started listing a physical single for "Give Me" wilth a release date of February 24.

Yesterday we anticipated that the release is likely to be slightly pushed back.

In fact, MadonnaTribe understands that the CD pressing will start next week, making the timeframe for a February release tight.

But don't worry, we can expect the single to hit the stores on March 5th in the countries where CDs are released on Mondays.

The tracklisting.

As already reported here first the 2-track single will include the "Party Rock Remix" feat. LMFAO as its b-side.

The "2 Titres".

Although the 2-track CD single format has been a French classic for the Madonna collectors among the years in its signature "2 titres" carboard sleeve format, Polydor will not release "Give Me All Your Luvin'" as a physical single in France.

The Maxi CD.

In our report yesterday we said we were keeping our finger crossed for a remixes-filled CD Maxi. And that is it, because at the present time Interscope does NOT have a plan to release a Maxi, although they have a set of remixes ready to be serviced to clubs.

Thanks to Polydor / Interscope / Universal Music Group.

Writing to Radio 1 won't change a thing. Without wanting to sound rude you shouldn't waste your time, they won't bow to a few fans writing them emails. They do audience research which has obviously told them their audience doesn't like the song so its fate is basically sealed.

Hi JARK, thanks for the reply, as a avid fan of Madonna's she can do no wrong in my eyes or ears, so her new music is always a surprise. I've had responses in the past from Radio 1 and positive responses they've been to, so sometimes they may listen. GMAYL for me sounds stereotypically American aimed at there culture of sports and hype. I think its Madonna having a bit of fun. Masterpiece in my book is great and a worthy hit. I'm really looking forward to hearing MDNA in full. Its funny to read the varying expectations about Madonna and her music, I think everyone wants her to be the best, I always want her to be kick ass all the time and produce ROL type tracks, but saying that I wouldn't want to hear that virtually all the time :)

Radio 1 didnt playlist 'moves like jagger' you can have success without their support! (it's alot harder tho).

I would love a 12 inch release too!

They playlist based on the artist and not the song.

Even if they do reply, it's often crap. Someone on DS asked why they don't playlist Alexandra Burke, and the answer was because she 'doesn't fit in' with the audience's tastes  Which we all know is ridiculous seeing as they avidly playlist similar artists like Rihanna, Alexis Jordan and Jessie J. They just don't support some artists, and that's it. They have supported Madonna in the past though haven't they? I remember Celebration was at least.
It would really help if she at least tried to do some promo. It's sad to see that she doesn't really care :(
